Mr. Ant is the official mascot of the Franklin County Watermelon Festival! You can find him on our t-shirts each year highlighting the best parts of Alabama by hiking, picnicking, bird watching, driving an RV, relaxing by the lake, setting up a farmers market, & more! This year, our shirts feature Mr. Ant showing off his patriotic skills for America’s 250th Birthday! We’ll have them for sale in the office soon!

Did you know that we host a 0-21 beauty pageant each year to determine the new Miss Watermelon Queen? 👑
Queens are crowned in each age category and are then presented during the opening ceremony of the Watermelon Festival. Miss Watermelon Queen completes several duties throughout her rein: cutting the first watermelon of the festival, presenting awards for the watermelon contests, riding in Christmas Parades, and crowning the new queens the following year. 👑
We have had some BEAUTIFUL ladies participate in the Franklin County Watermelon Pageant throughout the years & we've had wonderful representatives as Miss Watermelon Queen.👑🍉
