🥫🦃🏆 Sequoyah Kids 4-H Club is challenging all Pope County 4-H clubs to a friendly competition to see who can collect the MOST canned food by November 19! 🏆 🦃🥫

Now, let’s see which club can rise to the challenge! Every can counts, so let’s fill those donation boxes and spread a little extra thankfulness this Thanksgiving season!

🥫 The Challenge: Collect as much canned Thanksgiving food as possible!

A huge thank-you to the Sequoyah Kids Club for leading this effort! This competition is about more than bragging rights—it’s about giving back and helping our community! All collected food will be donated to RVF4K to help support local families. 💚

🤖🌱 From underwater robots to homemade pasta, Pope County 4-H is about a whole lot more than showing animals at the fair!

🍀 Kids ages 5–19 can explore everything from cooking and robotics to gardening, art and leadership. And the best part? 4-H is FREE to join!

We talked with Pope County 4-H Extension Agent Ashton Lancaster about the programs available locally, what kids are most interested in and why there's something for just about everyone.

Don't forget, our first SeaPerch practice for the 2027 season is tonight at 5pm! 🍀 🌊 🤖

SeaPerch is a hands-on, project-based engineering program that allows students to build their own remotely operated vehicle (ROV) and then compete with youth across the state in an underwater obstacle course.

Special Halloween Program: Zombie Pumpkin Wound Care! 🍀 🎃 👻

Join us Wednesday, October 21st at 5:30 PM at the ATU Farm for a FREE Vet Science program. Current LSU School of Veterinary Medicine students will be joining us to teach animal wound care, and we're practicing on ZOMBIE PUMPKINS! 🎃

Members will gain hands-on knowledge of how to clean, assess, and bandage wounds just like real vets do. 🩹

This meeting is ideal for our junior and intermediate-age 4-H'ers, but of course everyone is welcome! If you are interested in animal science, veterinary science, or just want the chance to talk to current veterinary school students, you don't want to miss this opportunity!

Let's take a closer look at the individuals who give their time, energy, and talents to make our 4-H clubs possible.

We asked our 4-H members and families to share why they are thankful for a 4-H mentor or club leader. These messages highlight just a few of the many ways our volunteers make a difference and remind us of the impact they have on the young people they serve.

From teaching new skills and creating opportunities to encouraging youth, offering support, and simply being there when they're needed, our club leaders make a difference.

Pope County 4-H is fortunate to have club leaders who give their time, energy, knowledge, and enthusiasm to provide meaningful opportunities for our youth. From livestock and horses to STEM, cooking, arts, leadership, and more, our club leaders help young people find their place in 4-H.

Today, we’ll be highlighting some of the amazing individuals who make Pope County 4-H what it is. Thank you to ALL of our 4-H club leaders for everything you do for our youth!

The Teen Leaders 4-H Club was excited to welcome Judge Ben Cross to their meeting on Monday, October 5. Judge Cross joined the Teen Leaders to sign a proclamation officially designating October 4–10, 2026, as National 4-H Week in Pope County.

We are excited to celebrate the many opportunities, experiences, and positive impacts that 4-H brings to youth throughout our community!
