NATIONAL CHAMPS!
Congratulations to the Russellville High School cheerleading squad for winning the national championship in their division at NCA Nationals! More info from Head Coach Karen Chenault below:

RUSSELLVILLE -
The Russellville Cyclone Coed Cheer team placed first in their division at the NCA Nationals (virtual edition).

Because of the winter storm, the RHS cheer team was unable to travel to Dallas to compete in person. NCA made the decision to allow the teams who couldn’t attend to compete virtually with other teams in their respective divisions.

After hitting zero on their routine performed Friday at Cyclone Arena, Coach Chenault submitted the routine for judging and found out they scored a 93.77 out of 100 possible points.

The “in-person” event winner of their division scored a 91.88 on their winning routine, so the Cyclones felt good about their chances on the virtual side!
The virtual winners were announced Sunday at 5:00 pm live on Varsity TV. The team gathered over a Google Meet call to watch the results. The announcement that Russellville won was an exciting event to say the least, and plans for a team celebration are underway. Go Cyclones!

Cyclone Cheerleaders are selling tickets for a gift card drawing to be held at the last home football game of the season! Tickets are 1 for $5 or 5 for $20. One lucky winner will receive over $500 worth of giftcards. Each giftcard is worth $25 each! All proceeds support the Cyclone cheerleaders expense for nationals this year! You can purchase from your favorite cheerleader to support them! You do not have to be present at the game to win.
