Adairville Strawberry Festival returns for 78th year
The city of Adairville is preparing to host the 78th Annual Strawberry Festival, a multi-day celebration featuring community traditions, local competitions, and a tribute to the nation's 250th anniversary.
The festivities begin Saturday, May 9, with several preliminary events. The "Taste of Adairville," held at Living Word Church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., will offer southern casseroles prepared by community members for $10 per ticket. A quilt show will run concurrently from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by the 2026 Adairville Auto & Tractor Show from noon to 3 p.m.
The auto show, sponsored by the Adairville-South Logan Chamber of Commerce, coincides with the "America 250" celebration. The first 50 registered entries will receive a special memento to mark the country’s semiquincentennial. The day will conclude with gospel singing starting at 4:30 p.m.
The festival’s main schedule resumes Thursday, May 14, through Saturday, May 16, centered around the Adairville Square.
Thursday, May 14
Vendors will open at 3 p.m., with carnival rides starting at 4 p.m. The "Adairville Has Talent" show is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the Adairville Square, providing local performers a chance to compete on stage. Musical entertainment by Clay Bilyeu will follow from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday, May 15
Friday’s activities include a Kiddie Parade at 3 p.m. for children ages 12 and under. Participants are encouraged to wear red or strawberry-themed attire and may use decorated bikes, scooters, or wagons. Following the parade, Independence Bank will provide free popsicles. Musical group Four on the Floor will perform from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Saturday, May 16
The final day of the festival begins with a pancake breakfast at the Adairville Fire Station from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Vendors open at 10 a.m., with a performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at noon signaling the start of the day’s formal ceremonies.
The Jackson-Dickenson duel reenactment is scheduled for 12:10 p.m., leading up to the "Strawberry Fields of Freedom Parade" at 2 p.m. The parade will feature patriotic floats and a golf cart decorating contest, with cash prizes awarded for first, second, and third place. Charles Brindley will serve as Grand Marshall, and the festival will be dedicated to Charles Davis.
Evening entertainment includes Jun & Friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., followed by Water Buffalo from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
