Indian Lake Yacht Club Since 1942, Indian Lake Yacht Club has promoted and advanced sailing on Indian Lake in northwest Ohio. See us on www.indianlakeyachtclub.com to find out more.

The Indian Lake Yacht Club has been a fixture on Indian Lake for almost 80 years. In the early 40’s a small group of sailors formed a nucleus, which was chartered as The Indian Lake Yacht Club in 1945. Over the years the ILYC leased a small island from the State of Ohio, which was eventually purchased from the State. Additional enlargement of the island was made possible by allowing the deposit of

dredged material. As the island grew so did the membership. Currently the club has a total membership approaching 90 members. Several classes of one-design boats are involved in sailing competition weekly throughout the summer season. In addition family gatherings with various themes are encouraged on specific holidays and weekends. Visitors are always welcome.

On Sunday, the club held their annual Stouder Thompson Handicap Race. All sailboats are welcome and encouraged to participate in this fun race. And "fabulous" prizes are available for the top finishers as well! Following the awards presentation, club members prepared for the Highlander / MC Scow Chicken Dinner (or Dessert Fest - if you take a look at those dessert tables! 😂) The Indian Lake Ring of Fire topped off the day. A good day was had by all!

Sunday racing at the club! We've had so many Sundays with inclement weather or no wind that members decided not to let the clouds chase them away. The wind was great so three Interlakes and three MC Scows went out to race. Thanks to the Lairds and Jonathan Eckels for running the races today. Great day on the water!
