Hi, everyone!

As you know, our radio station plays a lot of great older songs.

Monday morning in the 7 AM hour, we're going to let you hear the brand new song by the "bad boys of rock and roll".

We'll debut the new song by the Rolling Stones!

Tune in 93.5, WRPO. Yeah, we'll also repeat it through the day.

Apparently, there is a large power outage in the Lake area. Affecting at least Russells Point and Huntsville. As such, we are not on the air at the moment. Hopefully when the power comes back up, we will as well.

Though I cannot 100 percent vouch for this photo as it was posted to social media, this is said to be a picture of something seen on Wednesday morning at a campground in the area. And please forgive me. If you know who took it, feel free to comment. I just personally couldn't have seen it. So now I have corrected my unfortunate mistake in having said Thursday, not Wednesday. Again, and I repeat, I cannot vouch 100 percent for the object in the distance is. That's up to the weather people to decide. There were possible radar signatures yesterday that "could" have been a funnel. But, looks can be deceiving. I hope that settles this issue. As of this morning (Thursday), we are still off the air as it appears power is still out at the Municipal Building. My wi-fi connection to WRPO is still down this morning.

We are sad to report tonight the death of legendary singer/songwriter Neil Sedaka. He wrote hits for himself and many others like "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do", "Stupid Cupid", "Love Will Keep Us Together (a major hit for the Captain and Tennille who, if you'll recall sang "Sedaka's Back" at the end of the song. If I had a vote, I'd vote for him for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Here's the report from the Associated Press:

NEW YORK (AP) — Neil Sedaka, the hit-making singer-songwriter whose boyish soprano and bright melodies made him a top act in the early years of rock ‘n’ roll and led to a second run of success in the 1970s, has died.

Sedaka, whose hits included “Breaking Up Is Hard to Do” and “Laughter in the Rain,” died Friday at age 86.

“Our family is devastated by the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Neil Sedaka,” his family said in a statement. “A true rock and roll legend, an inspiration to millions, but most importantly, at least to those of us who were lucky enough to know him, an incredible human being who will be deeply missed.”

No other details of his death were immediately available.

A key member of the Brill Building songwriting factory, Sedaka teamed with lyricist and boyhood neighbor Howard Greenfield on songs that reflected the teen innocence of the post-Elvis, pre-Beatles era of the late 1950 and early 1960s, including “Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen,” “Calendar Girl” and “Oh! Carol,” a lament for his high school sweetheart, Carole King.

From all of us at Indian Lake's Greatest Hits, Rest In Peace, Neil!

Coming when the weather finally breaks to a location in Huntsville...the tower raising for Indian Lake's Classic Country (with a touch of Americana) "Twang" 101.3, WOHP-LP. The build out is scheduled to begin. By late spring, we should begin program tests, then file license to cover (a mere formality which we should get in about 24 hours). And then, FINALLY after 4 years, WOHP-LP returns to Huntsville.
