469 children entered American foster care today. Not this year — today.

By the time you finish reading this, another one has a caseworker, a car ride, and a house they've never seen. Most of them packed in under an hour. Most of them didn't get to say goodbye to their room.

The number is enormous and the experience is not. It happens one kid at a time, in one hallway, with one adult saying "you're going to be okay" and hoping it's true.

You can't fix 469. You could be the reason one of them lands somewhere safe.
