📣 Volunteers Needed! 📣

Be a part of bringing history, civic engagement, and community conversations to life in Rushville!

The Voices & Votes exhibit will be in our community from July 5–August 16, and we're looking for enthusiastic volunteers to serve as docents. No prior experience is necessary—training will be provided!

Volunteers will welcome visitors, help guide guests through the exhibit, encourage conversation, and assist with special events and activities.

This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with your community, learn something new, and help create a meaningful experience for visitors of all ages.

Interested in volunteering? Join us for a Volunteer Meeting on June 10 from 11:00 AM–12:00 PM to learn more and receive training materials.

Meet Our Summer Intern!

Please join us in welcoming Alexis Rapp to the Rush County Extension Office as our Summer Intern!

Alexis is currently attending Ball State University, where she is pursuing a degree in Speech-Language Pathology with a minor in Deaf Studies. A lifelong supporter of 4-H, Alexis was a dedicated 10-year Rush County 4-H member, actively participating in Horse and Pony Club, showing swine, and completing welding projects throughout her 4-H career. Her experiences in 4-H helped develop her leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills while fostering a strong connection to agriculture and her local community.

In addition to her 4-H accomplishments, Alexis proudly served as the 2025 Rush County Fair Queen, representing the fair and promoting agriculture, youth development, and community engagement throughout the county. Even after aging out of 4-H, Alexis has remained involved by volunteering with the Rush County Horse and Pony Club, helping support and mentor the next generation of 4-H members.

This summer, Alexis will be assisting with Extension programs and events while gaining hands-on experience serving the residents of Rush County. We are excited to have her on our team and look forward to the enthusiasm, knowledge, and perspective she will bring to our office.

What an AMAZING time at 4-H Camp! ☀️🌲💚

Camp was packed full of adventure, laughter, and unforgettable memories! Campers cooled off with lots of WATER FUN 💦, tackled exciting Jumanji-themed challenges 🗺️🐍, explored the pond during fishing and canoeing 🎣🛶, and wrapped up the evenings around the campfire 🔥 with songs, stories, and smiles.
From trying new things to making new friends, our campers showed teamwork, bravery, kindness, and true 4-H spirit! We are so proud of these campers for jumping into every activity with enthusiasm and positive attitudes.
The memories made at camp last a lifetime — and this 4-H camp was definitely one to remember! 💚🍀
