Happy Saturday Treasure Hunting to all you brave souls who are willing to brace the heat wave to buy and sell and find something you have been searching for or didnt know you needed or wanted! For some of us its an outing, some getting items to resell and some finding items for use. Whatever our reasons we seem to be drawn to that garage or yard sale sign like a magnet! The vehical just turns on its own! I hope you all have a great experience and find that something you have been searching for. Max and I will be out here at the Thrift Store and Carolyn will be managing the table at the Senior Center. Stop in and say hello, shop or just take a break from the heat! We have been recieving new items daily so your treasure might be here! Have fun! Jackie and Max

Good morning everyone! Praise God for this beautiful moisture. Bless the land and all its little critters who inhabit it!
My usual hours for waking is from 3 to 4, best time of the day when all is quiet, except for my brain which never shuts off only in sleep! If only my body would agree with what my mind thinks it can build! All out there that share this same issue i sympathize with you!
We get asked often "what things do you take here at the store?" Basically we respond "everything except clothes." We do however take shoes, purses, etc. We have what we call a man cave room which is a catch all for misc this and thats, a craft and fancy dish room which at times has some smaller pieces of furniture. Of course a toy room for the littles, a kitchen room which is very popular and always in need of more stuff! Year round Christmas room, if you have any trees whether lights work or not think of us. Then theres the library with chairs for you to relax and browse at leisure! Just recieved a bunch of westerns! Last is the linen room with curtains, bedding, dollies, towels, tableclothes and more for making a home comfortable, functional and pretty. Pictures, frames, trinkets, dvds, cds, vcrs, records, puzzles and more line the hallway and the@ entrance room has jewelry and consignments. It is a fun and happy place to shop, just look, drop stuff off no longer desired or needed instead of taking it to the land fill, or spend time just sharing your day. Anyone wishing to donate their time or donations to the cause of making our Parkview Lodge Busy Beavers Thrift Store a success is welcome with open arms!!! We appreciate everyones support in helping us attain our current goal of a shinny new stainless steel kitchen serving our residents with pride, safety and great food!
Thank you for all your donations, keep them coming! We are gaining more and more customers as we grow and its your continued support that makes this happen! Love to you all Jackie and Max!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Good morning everyone, just a note to give a thankyou for bringing your donations to the store. We have been recieving items but it goes out as fast as it comes in somedays so please keep it coming! Interest and knowledge of the Parkview Lodge Busy Beavers is gaining and we really desire to be blessed with a bursting your seams store in anticipation of the upcoming Highway 20 junk jaunt the first weekend of June. The senior citizen center is renting tables for $25.00 a table and we are going to be there also with some unique collectible items. For those who don't wish to take down there set up everyday, it is a great deal! Just 25$ for all 3 days! Just walk away at the end of the day and your stuff is safe and ready for the next day!
Our major goal along with the little improvements is to begin upgrading our kitchen at Parkview. This is an expensive goal as we all know and in the long term I imagine will exceed fifty thousand easily, so if anyone has that buried in your back yard for a rainy day feel free to donate to this cause@Parkview Lodge Busy Beavers!!!! Love all you guys for putting up with my notes! Have a great week!
As a side note i am still in need of hollow core doors which i cut to make shelving for the store. If you have one or more i would be happy to come get any.they dont have to look good just serviceable. Thanks a bunch, Jackie and MAX

Good morning everyone! 4:28 now and my mind is awake, however the body is still undecided! I will attempt an update of store activity.
Due to the faithful dedication of volunteers the store is being organized and rearranged for better customer experience. We are planning on participating in the Big 3 day June weekend along with all the other highway 20 street, yard and garage sales!
In order for this to be a success we need to fill our store to bursting its seams so if you are not planing your own sale and you have stuff and such you wish to pass on, please please drop it off at our store! Our list grows larger for the desires of our Parkview Lodge assisted living facility daily. Thank you everyone for your support!
As a side note, I am seeking to form a garden club for the assisted living and was wondering if there might be others who would be interested in such an endeavor. Phone 308-327-2510 or stop by for a visit. Our hours are 11 to 4 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, plus the first and 3rd Saturday of every month!
Thanks again for the amazing response we have had in the establishment of the Busy Beavers Thrift Store to enable Parkview Lodge Assisted Living be a pearl in our community. Sincerely Jackie and Mr Max

Heads up everyone! Just a reminder of our hours which are:
Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday plus the first and third Saturday of every month. we will post any changes.
(Hours are 11:00 to 4:00)
Please allow yourselves time to shop as we (close) at 4:00 and the store is full of treasures you will not be able to see in less than a half hour. Not speaking for the younger volunteers but this old lady is running on fumes by this time of day and ready for my recliner! Have a wonderful weekend from "Max and Jackie" maybe we'll see you today as it is the 3rd Saturday and we are open!

I imagine unless you've been to the store, you think something must have happened to me. You're right! I just have been too sidetracked to get on here to let you know whats going on!
We started just after the holidays rearranging some of the rooms in and effort to utilize space better. Installing more shelves, lights, sending some unsold items on and placing new items out. Praise God for volunteers to make this all possible!
We are testing out a possible additional effort to increase sales with some consignments. Prices of these types of items are set by the consigner and our store adds 20%. We have already had some sucess with this idea and look forward to increased interest. Most of the items are more collectable in nature, however we do consider other items. Give us a call if you have questions.
Come in and check us out and feel free to bring us any items except clothing. Shoes are okay! We always need donated items as the store is starting to gain exposure with the surrounding area and has more customers everyday. All our efforts are for the purpose of supporting our Parkview Lodge Assisted Living facility. Thank you so much for all your support! Jackie Max and volunteers!

A nice selection of Christmas items still available in the store!
