🌟DESIGNATED FUND GRANTEE: Rushville Public Library🌟

RPL is the beneficiary of three funds – Laughlin Family Trust Fund, Robert and Sandra Duddy Fund, and Rushville Public Library Fund, Pattison-Schrichte Family.

The annual support they receive is used for some of the most beloved reasons patrons visit – the reading programs for summer (Going on now!) and winter, year-round programming and books for all ages, and $10 discounts for county residents to get cards during National Library Week. They’ve also been able to update their circulation desk technology.

🌟DESIGNATED FUND GRANTEE: Rush County Humane Society🌟

The Rush County Humane Society (RCHS is a separate organization from the Rushville Animal Shelter) receives annual support from two RCCF funds. The Rush County Humane Society Fund was started by local veterinarians Frederick Phillips, George King, Doug Schweikhardt, and Robert Jackman in 1995. It also received a significant legacy gift from a generous donor’s estate.

These dollars help provide low-cost care for Rush County pets. Services include: discounted spays/neuters, vaccine clinics (including free rabies vaccinations paid for by RCHS), and flea/tick medications. They can help with emergency medical care and food. As an all volunteer organization, they’re working on a new trap neuter/ spay release program for cats.

“We couldn’t offer as much as we do without the Foundation,” shared president, Angie Yeend. “We’re extremely grateful!”

🌟DESIGNATED FUND GRANTEE: Robert L. Jenkins American Legion Post 150 - Rushville Indiana🌟

The Post serves as resource for veterans and their families. Run single handedly by Gordon and Valerie McGowan as volunteers, this organization is a labor of love for them.

Members can connect with each other in a social environment during hours when the restaurant and bar are open. It also houses an office for veterans to be get help accessing services and transportation for medical appointments.

But you don’t have to be a member to enjoy the social aspect. Every Friday and a couple of other times per month, the restaurant and bar are open to the public. With food, beverages, games, electronic pull tabs, and a family-friendly atmosphere, all are welcome. The hall is available for rent at a very reasonable price.

The Post is community-minded. They are working to install a generator that will allow them to serve as an emergency warming center with an unrestricted grant they received through RCCF.

The money they receive from the Gilbert E. & Phyllis C. Joyce Fund is used for a scholarship.
