Changing Footprints

Changing Footprints Changing Footprints is a 100% volunteer organization, with chapters in Rushville, North Indy, South Indy, Fort Wayne, & Greenfield. Come volunteer!

We collect, sort, and redistribute quality 130,000 pairs of used shoes each year to those in need. In the spring of 2004, Maureen Leisure learned of the need for shoes while watching a CNN report giving a glimpse into the lives of Afghan people living in tent cities in the mountains. With the invasion of the rebels, these people fled their homes with nothing but the clothes on their back and no sh

oes to protect their feet. Aside from the misery of bare feet in the cold harsh mountains, they faced serious medical issues from the resulting infections of foot wounds. After watching that news story, Maureen knew she had to find a way to help not just these people of Afghanistan but the people in her own community as well. She shared this with her coworker Bob Broughton, and together, they created Changing Footprints in Rushville (Maureen) & North Indianapolis (Bob). Now, 18 years later, Changing Footprints also has locations in Ft Wayne (New Haven), Greenfield, and South Indianapolis(Beech Grove), and has distributed 400,000 pairs of shoes.

FROM CHANGING FOOTPRINTS - North Indianapolis:

Kids run track without cleats. We have free cleats.

Kids go to prom without great shoes. We have Amazing prom shoes.

Kids walk thru snow and slush. We have free boots.

If you'd like to help give kids something they can't afford to buy, help us get our gently used shoes to do something they will LOVE. Perhaps you can help us pick out the best for deliveries. Perhaps you can help us deliver them. Perhaps you can contact a coach or a school and see if they have a need.

Call us to make a real difference IN INDIANAPOLIS and neighboring suburbs for kids who can't afford an amazing childhood. It just takes a hour here or there, on your own schedule.

For answers to your questions or a deeper explanation, call 317-727-4186 or email [email protected]. Use your talents, make a memory and help a child. Bob Broughton at Changing Footprints North Indy.

GREENFIELD — Maureen Leisure never could have guessed the shoe outreach she started on her dining room table in 2005 would one day grow to distribute one million pairs of shoes around the world.

More than 50,000 volunteers across 5 Indiana chapters have made it possible for us to distribute 1, 000,200 pairs of shoes across the past 22 years. Each pair of shoes changes the world for a single person, multiplied by a MILLION. The power of an all-volunteer organization, harnessed to the power of Maureen's vision and Bob's persistence. What change could you bring, if you put your mind to it? .... Thank you for all those who volunteer and make it possible.

and combine to give workers recovering from life disruptions a new chance to thrive! Without great boots like those from RockRooster, it doesn't happen. Without a complete life recovery program like that from Purposeful Design, it doesn't happen. Changing Footprints is proud to supply an "Infinite Boot Rack" and monthly (always free) replenishment to make the partnership possible.

If your nonprofit has a job-creation component and needs support for work boots (especially steel-toed), contact Changing Footprints North Indy ([email protected]) and let's talk.

are the best ever - supplying us with temporary, mobile storage while we look for a new, permanent home. The containers are multiple sizes, 8' tall, nice and wid, and yet fit in a single parking space, which was important to us. And they are a special friend for non-profits, DO US A FAVOR, whether you need a unit for months or just during the day of a festival or for a move from one location to another, call Mike or Brian and tell them ChangingFootprints thinks they are something special!

RecycleForce is an Indianapolis nonprofit supported by ChangingFootprints.ORG and *!!* RockRooster Footwear *!!*. RecycleForce reduces crime by offering paid employment and job training to people returning from incarceration while improving the environment through electronics recycling. Talk about a win-win! RockRooster donates more than 1000 pairs of steel toed boots each year to Changing Footprints, even paying transportation from the East Coast, to help people in Indianapolis, because RockRooster cares! Changing Footprints sets up a rack of free steel toed boots and tennis shoes inside the building at RecycleForce, allowing them to immediately outfit new workers returning from incarceration ... and refills the rack each month, free of charge. Changing Footprints is proud to be part of this life-changing partnership. PLEASE REPOST THIS.
