Country Camo Outdoors Veterans Alliance was founded in 2015 by husband and wife Larry and Jeana Mitchell. Larry was an avid outdoorsman, who introduced Jeana, a disabled Army veteran to the outdoors.. Jeana found great therapy and relief in the outdoors and found it very beneficial in managing her PTSD and TBI. Together they began brainstorming ways to help other veterans in the same way, who may

be needing ideas in ways to cope as well. We are just your ordinary everyday people who work jobs, stay at home, raise kids, and go to school, we are all volunteers, and all share one commonality: our passion for the outdoors and hunting. It is because of this passion we want to involve as many people in the outdoors as possible, but involving them is not enough: we want to educate as well. With the media and government filling our channels we need positive role models, influences and people who are willing to make a difference : WE ARE THOSE PEOPLE! CCOVA uses the outdoors to help veterans heal spiritually, mentally, and physically and promotes conservation to all. Update on Carl the 72 year old veteran who lost everything in the recent flooding here.
Right now he has been put up in the Baymont in Zanesville by Cracker Barrell. I believe 5 days have been paid for.
He still needs some things if anyone would like to drop them off at front desk for him: just tell them they are for Veteran Carl.
Here are his sizes:
3xl tshirts/sweatshirts, 3xl sweatshirts. He def needs socks and underwear. Probably white traditional briefs 2xl and white knee socks. Size 10 tennis shoe, or slip ons. He’s def a casual comfy dress type gentleman. Maybe some comfy pants too, 3X
He also needs to eat, so snack foods, gift cards to CrackerBarrel since its close or maybe Door Dash. Also maybe just some crosswords or puzzle books to occupy him.

Please join us to wish our World War II veteran, Gene Rauschenbach, a happy 101st birthday!!! He was an MP in the Army at Okmulgee Oklahoma prison war camp. He met his future wife, Imogene, there. They were married for 71 years! She lived to be 90. Happy Birthday Gene!

Today is day. The Purple Heart is the oldest military decoration still given to U.S. service members. General George Washington's original badge was revived and renamed the Purple Heart in 1932 on the bicentennial of his birth. More than 1.8 million Purple Heart medals have been given out across various American conflicts, and it is awarded to those wounded or killed in action on or after April 5, 1917.
