Genesee Valley Handspinners Guild We are a group of spinners, knitters, crocheters, weavers, felters--anyone who loves working with fiber--meeting monthly on the 3rd Saturday (see events).

The Genesee Valley Handspinner's Guild was formed in 1985. Small at first, it has grown over the years with a revival of interest as many people are exploring artisan crafts.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: This month's meeting has been rescheduled to Saturday September 28th at our regular location.

We will NOT be meeting on September 21st. The scheduled program will be postponed. We will instead enjoy a spin in. Assistance with spinning silk will also be offered if you missed last month's program.

The July guild meeting will be held at Lazy Acre Alpacas farm located at:
8830 Baker Road, Bloomfield, NY 14469

*Park in the upper parking lot – a shuttle will be available for those who need assistance walking to the barn. A handicap parking area is available as well.
**Bring your own lunch, cold drinks and a chair.
The day will include a tour of the farm and visit with the alpacas, a presentation of the different camelid fibers as well as preparation and spinning techniques. Everyone will have the opportunity to spin a sample (provided) of alpaca fiber.

Lazy Acre Alpacas offers private and group alpaca farm tours, alpaca yoga events, birthday parties, wedding and engagment photo sessions and we also have an Airbnb. We also offer many package options for alpaca ownership.
