We are honored to welcome Mrs. Gloria Zapata to Grace Community School as our new Teacher’s Aide! We are so blessed to have her join our team and look forward to the love, wisdom, and experience she will bring to our students.

Gloria attends Jerusalem Baptist Church, where she serves as the church secretary, Sunday school teacher, and worship leader. She currently also serves as the secretary for the Unión Femenil Misionera de Texas.

Gloria brings seven years of experience as a paraprofessional at Runge ISD, and we are excited to have her experience and passion for working with children become part of our school community!

Gloria shared:

“I am so blessed to have this opportunity to work at Grace Community School, where it will give me the opportunity to share my faith and my beliefs. A school where we can pray with students, lead devotionals, and combine biblical principles into the lessons. This will allow me to actively guide students in their own spiritual journeys as well as mine.”

Please join us in giving Miss Gloria a warm welcome to the Grace Community School family! We are excited to see how God will use her to love, serve, and disciple our students. 💙📚✝️

Thank you, Pastor Corey, for leading Chapel today! Our students learned the importance of submitting to their guardians’ authority and understanding God’s design for the family. We are so thankful for the biblical truth being poured into our students each week! 🙏📖

The enemy will try to tell our children many lies, but we will continue to boldly teach them God’s truth!

God is our Creator, and He made each of us intentionally and with a purpose. We want our students to know who they are, whose they are, and that their lives have meaning because they were created by God.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11

We will continue to build our children on the truth of God’s Word and point them back to Him in all things! 🙏📖

Thank you to Pastor Gable Tovar for leading our very first Chapel! We are so thankful for the opportunity to begin this special tradition at Grace Community School.

Pastor Gable presented an engaging lesson from Matthew 7:24–27, teaching our students that the wise man builds his house upon the Rock. Most importantly, our students learned that Jesus should be the foundation of our lives.

What a wonderful reminder as we begin this journey together! May we continue to build our school, our families, and our lives upon the firm foundation of Christ. ❤️📖

Our first day was incredible! ❤️

Thank you to our amazing families for trusting us with your children, and to everyone who has been faithfully praying for us along the way. We are so grateful for the love, support, and encouragement we have received as we begin this journey.

May God continue to guide our school, our staff, our families, and our students as we seek to honor Him in all that we do. We are so excited for what He has in store! 🙏✨

We are SO excited to welcome our very first class to Grace Community School on Monday! What an incredible milestone and an answered prayer this is. ❤️

I want to give a HUGE shout-out to our amazing staff Julie Friesen, Lacqynn Mendez and Jasmine Torres who have worked so hard behind the scenes to prepare for this special day. From organizing, decorating, laminating, and cutting to loving on and watching children while we prepare, so much time and effort has gone into getting our school ready. We are incredibly grateful for each of you and the gifts you bring to this ministry!

Most importantly, we lift our students up in prayer. 🙏

Lord, we lift these children to You. We ask that You open their hearts and minds to Your knowledge and Your truth. May they grow academically, spiritually, and in character throughout this school year. Use us as teachers, staff, and leaders to pour into their lives and to fulfill Your will through Grace Community School. May everything we do bring honor and glory to You.

We are so thankful for what God has already done, and we cannot wait to see what He has planned for this year!

Monday, here we come! 💙✝️

We are so excited to be a part of such an amazing organization! We sent two of our board members to Kansas City this week. So blessed to be connected to a wealth of knowledge!

More than 100 school founders gathered in downtown Kansas City this week for the third annual SchoolBox Gathering, where like-minded leaders came together to connect, share resources and discuss challenges they’re facing.

This year’s gathering – hosted by the Herzog Foundation’s SchoolBox program, which helps people launch Christian schools – took place at Hotel Kansas City from Monday through Wednesday. It followed the theme “Firm Foundation” and drew the largest attendance in the event’s short history.

“The energy is, I think, unmatched of any event we’ve had,” SchoolBox Director Jonathan Edmondson told Heartlander News, which is published by the Herzog Foundation. “These are the people we’ve served. Getting to meet them, shake their hand and hear more about their story in a more casual way, it’s just so fun.”

📣 Grace Community School is excited to announce our newest Board Member, Mark Cassie Gotthardt

Mark and his wife, Cassie, own and operate Rise Coffee & Community in Karnes City, where they are passionate about serving both the physical and spiritual needs of our community. In addition to his work at Rise, Mark faithfully serves his local church in a variety of ministries, always seeking opportunities to care for and encourage others.

Mark also served for six years at Runge ISD as a teacher and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Sponsor, investing in the lives of students both inside and outside the classroom.

We are honored to welcome Mark to the Grace Community School Board and are grateful for his heart for Christian education, servant leadership, and community outreach.

“I want to be a part of Grace Community to do whatever I am able to do in order to get this mission off the ground and running. It is a God-sized mission that is sorely needed in our community. This group has put words into action, and I am quite sure that, with God’s help, it will be successful in fulfilling our vision.”
