Unfortunately, due to a lack of volunteers in our organization, we have had to withdraw from a program that would have benefited local historical societies, ATV and snowmobile clubs, and other trail projects. I cannot do it all on my own, so I have to limit how much I take on.

River Valley Community Association is considering changes to its board structure. If you are interested in being on the River Valley Community Radio (WMPF) board, the River Valley Tourism (web site) board, or the overall board of directors, please message us privately.

Note: Membership on a board requires that you remain active with the organization in some way.

The Free Store board is handled differently a d not affected by this change.

River Valley Community Association is looking into establishing capacity to support local event planning and operations. This may provide the capacity for local organizations to maintain and expand on events without straining organization resources. By setting it up as a shared capacity, smaller, occasional and one time events will have the ability to utilize the resource without having to build the capacity on their own.

This is not an effort to take over any event, but rather provide a resource to be used under existing organizational leadership. We will keep you posted as to the status as our discussions continue.

Well, the new informational kiosk is operational as part of the new web site. We have secured two locations in Rumford, but resources are limited, so growth will be slow right now.

River Valley Community Association (RVCA) is pleased to announce that we are working with a local business to bring back the informational display we had before the pandemic in the Bartash Pharmacy window. The display will include our current events, meetings and entertainment calendars along with graphical displays relating to local announcements. Information submitted on the River Valley News and Announcements (RVN&A) page will be considered for inclusion on the display. WMPF will continue to use RVN&A as a source for over-the-air announcements. Please feel free to post information relating to community meetings, events and announcements on the RVN&A page.
