GRCC Soccer starts This Sunday 9:30 am at Hosmer field by skating rink you can sign up day of $30 . We do not have a lot of sign ups pre k to 1st and 2 nd 3 and 4 th. Hope to see you then.

The GRCC is taking sign ups for soccer 6 week instructional program to teach basics of soccer. It will Take place Sunday mornings 9:30 am to around 11 am . Going to try and have pre K to 1st grade and 2nd to 4 th grade. Sign up at GRCC $30 you can also call 369-9906 looking for some one that would like to coach the younger ones and some that would like to coach the older ones. Volunteers needed. Shooting to start Sunday the 30 th of August.

Here is some clarification and some more information on what our upcoming Hall of Fame Weekend will look like. All of these events are available to the general public.

Saturday, August 15th
The MV Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony in the Muskie Auditorium begins at 1:00 PM. Doors will open at noon. Tickets to attend are $10, with all proceeds going directly to Mountain Valley Athletics. *Inductees and one guest get free admission.

Immediately following the Award Ceremony there will be a reception at Black Mountain of Maine for all attendees. At the reception there will be appetizers, coffee and water provided to all attendees upon arrival. The lodge and deck will both be open for this event and the hope is for this to be an opportunity for all generations of our area athletes and fans to get together and celebrate our area’s rich history.

Sunday, August 16th
The MV Athletics Hall of Fame Golf Scramble at Oakdale CC will begin with a shotgun start at 9:00 AM, with registration opening at 8:15 AM. This is an 18 hole scramble available to all, the entry fee is $400 per team, once again with all proceeds going directly to Mountain Valley Athletics and the costs of the HOF. After the scramble, there will be a lunch for all participants provided by Mainely Plates and Platters. We are still looking for foursomes to fill out this tournament and businesses to sponsor the event($100 to sponsor a hole and $200 to sponsor a contest).

Western Mountain Youth Baseball League!!!
The GRCC would like to invite all youth baseball players to our 2026 youth baseball assessments next Thursday June 11 (Aubuchons)field and Friday June 12 on the (Oxie field) 530pm both days! This is for ALL returning and new players from ages 6-12!! Some 13 yo olds will be considered provided they do not turn 14 prior to October 1st! Our goal is to have a couple of farm league teams(coaches pitch) and a couple at the next level (majors)! Last time I checked it looked like we will have enough to make this happen! Please reach out to the GRCC to sign you athlete up! This is coed and we welcome boys and girls at both levels! 369-9906! As of now any returning players will be with the same coaches they were with last year provided they are ready for the majors and others will stay in farm league ! As always we try our very best to keep the teams as even as possible! Attendance at the assessments and early sign ups are key to making this happen!
We will be looking for a couple of farm league coaches for anyone interested! All volunteers must be approved by the grcc and have some basic understanding of teaching baseball fundamentals to our young athletes! We will also need umpires which will be paid per game! Prior to beginning the season we will have a meeting to discuss rules for each level! Please reach out to Gary Dolloff or myself with any questions regarding our summer baseball league!! Can’t wait to see everyone!!

We would like to thank all our supporters, past and present, for the GRCC. We are grateful for your support, which enables us to continue working hard to keep our doors open and thriving for our community. We ask once again for your support at the polls this year. The GRCC has requested a bit more money this year, as the cost of everything has increased, but please know we only ask for what we actually need to keep going. We are here, as we always have been, and have no plans to move; it is always an honor and pleasure serving the river valley. Thank you again for helping us along the way.
