Friends of the Wingfield Heritage House Museum
The Wingfield Heritage House, built in the 1920s, serves as a historical center that highlights Ruidoso’s development from its early settlers to a thriving town. Its mission is to preserve and promote this heritage through community engagement and educational outreach.
FoWHHM proposes to create an Event & Outreach Kit to strengthen their presence at festivals, community events, and conferences. This initiative will benefit Lincoln County residents, schools, municipalities, historical groups, and visitors by increasing visibility, growing membership, preserving local history, supporting local artists and organizations, and informing the public.
The project benefits approximately 20,000 Lincoln County residents, together with numerous visitors to New Mexico each year. FoWHHM’s outreach will extend to schools, libraries, and local businesses, supporting the community through education, engagement, and preservation efforts.
FoWHHM is proud to announce that the museum received the 2025 Award of Excellence from the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) for its radio segment, Ruidoso Rewind, which connects local stories to broader historical themes.

Sierra Blanca Book Share Project -
SBBSP promotes literacy in Lincoln County by providing quality books to children and families through the Lincoln County Imagination Library (LCIL). LCIL is a book-gifting program for all children under age five in Lincoln County. Each registered child receives a monthly, age-appropriate book, helping to build a strong educational foundation at home. Serving approximately 1,000 children from birth to age four, LCIL’s annual cost is $25,000.00. CFCL is proud to support this initiative. We invite you to join us in ensuring every child has access to books. Your support can make a meaningful difference.

Ruidoso Gymnastics
Ruidoso Gymnastics Association is home to over 150 gymnasts, from toddlers learning to walk to competitive athletes who travel for their sport. Their 7,000-square-foot facility serves all ages and skill levels. Each day, staff set up obstacle courses, stations, and drills to keep gymnasts engaged every minute. Safety is always the top priority.
Because they serve a wide range of ages and skill levels, their equipment is used constantly—setting up obstacle courses for younger gymnasts and drills for older kids. With such frequent use, mats rip at the seams, foam breaks down, and balance beams become slick and need recovering. New equipment allows the replacement of outdated pieces and ensures a safe environment. Upgraded equipment helps gymnasts train longer hours with less impact on their bodies. CFLC is proud to invest in our athletes

Ronald McDonald House New Mexico provides comfort, care, and all the necessities of home for thousands of families whose children are receiving medical treatment. Since Albuquerque is a regional hub for specialized pediatric care and is the site of New Mexico’s only Level 1 Trauma Center, thousands of children and their families travel from across the state each year to access lifesaving care. These families have no choice but to spend considerable time away from home while their child receives the medical care they desperately need.

Since 1982, Ronald McDonald House has supported children’s healing by keeping families together. While they cannot change the taste of medicine or eliminate the pain of treatment, they have eased the burden for more than 63,000 families by providing temporary, affordable lodging through their House Program. With 51 guestrooms across two houses, they offer safe, comfortable spaces for families to rest and recharge after long days at the hospital. These accommodations do more than provide shelter; they reduce the stress of finding a place to stay far from home and enable parents to be stronger partners in their child’s care. In 2024, they provided lodging for 325 families from Lincoln County.

The Ronald McDonald House Program reduces the financial burden on families facing medical crises by providing free lodging and essential needs. Families report that the money saved on food and housing can be redirected to medical expenses, transportation, rent, and utilities at home.

Each year, the House Program keeps families close to their children during treatment, leading to significant long-term benefits. Research shows that families who stay at a Ronald McDonald House experience a higher quality of life and are more engaged in their child’s medical care. This program supports the Community Foundation of Lincoln County’s health and welfare priorities by making systems more accessible and responsive to underserved communities across New Mexico. It also provides essential services to families during stressful times, allowing them to focus on their child. As a result, families return home with a stronger sense of community support.

Operating this program costs over $126 per night for each family. Families are asked to contribute $15 per night, but no one is turned away due to inability to pay. Last year, 85% of families could not provide the suggested donation, although Medicaid or low-income insurance may have covered part of their stay. Without this program, most families would be unable to afford temporary housing, forcing them to return home without care, leave their child at the hospital and visit only on weekends, or live in their vehicles.

CFLC is proud to support this important work.

Meet one of your Board of Directors of The Community Foundation of Lincoln County!
CINDI CLAYTON DAVIS
Cindi Clayton Davis moved to Ruidoso in 1987, originally planning to stay for just one ski season, but quickly fell in love with the community and made it her permanent home. She began her career locally at Pioneer Savings before purchasing Condotel in 1992, which she owned and operated for 25 years. In 1994, she acquired Rocky Mountain Sports, operating it as a year-round bike and ski shop. Her husband, Riker, joined her in the business in 2004. They sold the businesses in 2016 and 2021, respectively.
Cindi has an extensive history of civic and community leadership in Lincoln County. She served on Ruidoso’s Planning and Zoning Commission from 1989 to 1991, was a member of the Ruidoso Chamber of Commerce Board from 1994 to 1997, and served as Chair of the Lodgers Tax Committee from 2001 to 2012. She was a member of Leadership New Mexico’s Class of 2000, a founding board member of City Bank in 2001, and became Chairwoman of the Board in 2012. In 2018, she served as President of the Board of Realtors. She is a Volunteer Firefighter and Secretary of the Bonito Fire Department, serves as Treasurer/Fiscal Agent Representative for the Lincoln County Long-Term Recovery Group, and founded the Bonito Volunteer Fire Fighter Support Fund, a 501(c)(3) organization, in 2025, where she currently serves as Chair.
Following the McBride Fire, Cindi assisted the Community Foundation of Lincoln County (CFLC) in administering the Shelter Fund during its first large-scale activation. She subsequently became Chair of the Shelter Fund Committee and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of Lincoln County, where she focuses on disaster relief and community resilience.
Cindi and her husband, Riker, live in the Alpine Village/Cedar Creek area. They were fortunate that their home survived the South Fork Fire. Together, they are deeply committed to Lincoln County and helping their community not only recover but thrive.
