Village of Ruidoso Bridge Replacements Project

Several bridges that were structurally damaged or washed away during the flooding in 2008 and subsequent events are due for repairs.

The Village of Ruidoso and the consultant team are hosting two public meetings to share project details as well as capture concerns and issues relating to the project.

Come learn about the project, what it aims to remedy and accomplish, and share any concerns or issues. There will be a short presentation followed by Q&A, and an open house.

BURN SCARS CHANGE FLOOD RISK

After wildfire, the ground does not absorb water the same way.

That means rain can trigger:

⚠ Flash flooding
⚠ Mudslides
⚠ Debris flows
⚠ Road washouts

Even a short storm can create dangerous conditions in burn scar areas.
