The Power of a Decision

“Why sit we here until we die?” — II Kings 7:3

One of the most powerful lessons in Scripture is that breakthrough often begins with a decision.

The four leprous men in II Kings 7 found themselves trapped between a past they could not return to, an uncertain future, a barren present, and the certainty of death if they remained where they were.

Then they asked a question that still confronts us today:

“Why sit we here until we die?”

Many people are waiting for the perfect time.
Waiting for more confirmation.
Waiting for fear to disappear.
Waiting for every answer before they move.

But what if the miracle is waiting on the other side of your decision?

What if the next season of your life requires movement, not more hesitation?

Sometimes God is not asking us to know everything.

He’s asking us to take the next step.

The four lepers were not saved because they had perfect conditions.

They were saved because they made a decision.

Today, I encourage you to reflect:

• What decision have you been delaying?
• What season has already ended that you’re still trying to hold onto?
• Where has fear become a substitute for faith?
• What might God be waiting for you to do?

Your breakthrough may be closer than you think.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is decide.

DON’T MISS THE MESSAGE BECAUSE YOU THINK YOU’RE THE MASTER.

One of the greatest dangers in life, leadership, and spiritual growth is believing that you already know.

When a person constantly positions themselves as the expert, the critic, the evaluator, the one who always has the final analysis, they often lose the ability to hear.

Knowledge without humility becomes a barrier to revelation.

The Pharisees and Sadducees were highly educated. They knew the Scriptures. They knew the traditions. They knew the laws. They held positions, titles, influence, and authority.

Yet when Truth stood before them, they missed Him.

Why?

Because they were so convinced they were the masters that they could no longer be students.

They analyzed Him.
They criticized Him.
They questioned Him.
They judged Him.

But they never truly heard Him.

The tragedy was not that the message failed to arrive.

The tragedy was that their pride prevented them from receiving it.

Sometimes the very thing you have mastered can become the thing that blinds you.

A degree is wonderful.
Experience is valuable.
Titles have their place.
Wisdom matters.

But none of those things should ever remove our capacity to listen, learn, discern, and remain teachable.

God often speaks through unexpected people, unfamiliar voices, uncommon circumstances, and methods that challenge our assumptions.

The question is not:
“Am I qualified to evaluate the message?”

The question is:
“Am I humble enough to receive it?”

Stay teachable.
Stay aware.
Stay humble.

Because sometimes the greatest revelation is standing right in front of you, and the only thing preventing you from seeing it is the belief that you already know.

There are seasons where leadership is not tested by how loudly you speak…
but by how well you discern.

We are living in a time where information is everywhere, opinions are endless, and noise is constant — yet wisdom remains rare.

As leaders, builders, visionaries, and kingdom citizens, this is not the hour to move merely by emotion, pressure, popularity, or panic. This is the hour to move with clarity, stability, discernment, and intentionality.

The world is shifting rapidly:
• economies are changing,
• systems are evolving,
• technology is accelerating,
• cultures are redefining values,
• and many people are navigating uncertainty internally while trying to appear strong externally.

But in the middle of it all, one thing remains true:

Wisdom still builds.
Integrity still matters.
Character still sustains.
Discernment still protects.
And purpose still prevails.

At Paulette K. Broach International, we believe leadership is not simply about influence — it is about responsibility.

This is the season to:
• strengthen your inner foundation,
• steward your voice wisely,
• protect your peace intentionally,
• develop emotionally and spiritually,
• and build what can survive pressure, transition, and time.

Do not allow the pace of the world to disconnect you from the wisdom of God.

Slow down enough to hear clearly.
Pray deeply.
Think strategically.
Lead responsibly.
And remain anchored in truth.

The future does not belong merely to the loudest voices.
It belongs to disciplined, discerning, and spiritually mature leaders who know how to carry weight with wisdom.

There are some things you don’t fight… you refer.

Not everything that comes against you will be obvious.

Some things are:
• subtle
• intentional
• and strategically placed

And in those moments, your response matters more than the situation itself.

I have learned—especially in leadership—that every trap is not meant for reaction.

Some are meant for revelation.

In my latest blog on Paulette K Broach International, I walk through what it means to:
✨ remain aligned when something feels off
✨ pray with precision instead of reacting emotionally
✨ trust God to expose what you were never meant to fight

Because when you are postured correctly…

What was set for you will not prosper.

Not by force.
Not by defense.
But by God’s hand.

🗣️A Call to Sobriety in This Season

This is not a time for spiritual intoxication—
not with emotion, not with opinions, and not with distraction.

Scripture is clear:

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”
— 1 Peter 5:8

Sobriety is not about dullness—it is about clarity.
It is the ability to see rightly, hear accurately, and respond wisely.

Another translation reminds us:

“Let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:6

There is a difference between being awake and being aware.

This season requires leaders, believers, and Kingdom citizens who are:
• Clear-minded
• Disciplined in thought
• Guarded in speech
• Anchored in truth

Sobriety keeps us from reacting emotionally and positions us to respond spiritually.

“Gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you.”
— 1 Peter 1:13

To be sober is to be intentional, watchful, and submitted to God’s timing.

This is a season to stay clear.
Stay grounded.
Stay alert.

What we discern now will determine what we steward next.
