Tonight, Royse City Troop 312 joins our community in mourning the loss of the sanctuary that has watched over our scouting adventures for the past 100+ years. As life’s joys are to be celebrated, its sorrows are to be mourned, and today’s events are no exception. This is a tremendous loss for the church’s congregation, our community, and our troop. However, as we heal, let us remember these simple words shared by our Pastor: “God is still God”… and this is where He shines! We do not need a building to share God’s love via our scouting ministry. HE certainly does not. He will be everywhere this week - in the hugs exchanged between grieving congregation, in the generosity poured forth by brother and sister churches, and in each and every email, text, and phone call sent and received. We at Troop 312 are so incredibly grateful for love and support Royse City Methodist Church has generously provided us over the past century. We hope, as the healing process begins, that we can return these sentiments in even the smallest of ways, comfort those that are mourning, and be instrumental in the rebuilding of this beloved community icon.
