Full transparency! The lack of action by those in Harrisburg is atrocious! The Leadership in both the Senate and House should be ashamed! The following is what was sent to the "politicians" and not a damn thing will be done!
I am writing to share critical information regarding the recent ruling declaring all "skill games" outside of licensed casinos and truck stops unlawful as of October 14, 2026. Yesterday, Lansdale Amusements notified us that they will remove our machines on October 12, which poses an immediate threat to our operations and our ability to serve the community.
Our Social Club cannot support the fire department on liquor sales alone. The club currently provides $400,000 to $450,000 annually to fund our operations. Losing revenue from these machines will cut our funding by 50%, with no state plan to compensate for the loss. A reduction of this magnitude puts our department at severe risk of closing, directly impacting local public safety and emergency response capabilities.
For context, I have attached our year-to-date financial documents detailing our Social Club donations (and can supply previous years if necessary):
1. PA Skill Machines Breakdown: Shows $162,687 generated specifically from PA Skill machines contributed to the Fire Department in 2026.
2. Alcohol and Liquor Report: Details total alcohol and liquor sales donations of $139,313.
Year-to-date, Social Club donations total $302,000. As these figures demonstrate, losing skill game revenue presents an insurmountable challenge to our operating budget and creates an unnecessary $200,000 burden on local taxpayers to make up the difference.
