The Palm Beach Bulls organization was formed to provide young men and women an opportunity to compete at the highest level of basketball they can achieve. The main objective of the program is the development of player skills, sportsmanship and leadership through rigorous coaching, training, games and tournaments. We are dedicated to providing a safe environment that enhances our players, coaches,
parents and our community. This organization augments the region’s existing basketball programs. Players must understand that equal playing time in games is not a goal of this organization. It is our belief that playing time is earned during practice. Those players that work hard and show that they have the ability to perform when in a game will get playing time. Players need to take advantage of this opportunity by working to improve their skills in practice. They must understand that they need to take the lessons from practice, and work on their individual skill sets on their own as well as in practice. They need to be patient and understand that they have many years of competitive basketball ahead of them. With each practice and each game they have the opportunity to improve their basketball skills. To this end, the Bulls pursue the following specific goals:
• To promote positive character, consistent with family values to honor parents, respect coaches, players, and others, self-discipline, and commitment to community;
• To encourage academic excellence in school;
• To learn appropriate competitive behavior and commitment to team play and sportsmanship;
• To provide an environment for sharpening individual basketball skills and playing abilities; and
• To create opportunities for Bulls players to advance to higher education by earning basketball scholarships
WHO WE ARE
The Palm Beach Bulls is a private nonprofit organization founded in 2012 that is dedicated to providing a competitive environment for boys/girls who want to play high school basketball and possibly more. WHO CAN JOIN
Anyone can join who is willing to dedicate themselves to our core principals, and has a desire to be coached up to a higher level of play. We are looking for those players who are willing to commit to the program long term. No one can reasonably expect to improve their game in one or two months. TEAMS
Teams are formed around school grades and according to league format. LEAGUE PLAY
League play begins in September and continues through August. We will play approximately 6+ tournaments within this time period (this may vary based on age groups). Games are primarily held on weekends with some tournament play scheduled for Fridays and Mondays, typically on long weekends. HOW MUCH TIME IS REQUIRED? Palm Beach Bulls is not for everyone. Rather, it is for boys/girls who want to advance to play at a higher level, and whose goals include playing Varsity High School basketball and possibly more. It is also expected that in addition to playing in the league, all players will actively participate in their local school basketball programs. During the season all teams will practice ___twice___ a week, except during school basketball season (grades 7 through 12), during which practices are held once a week. Some practices are held on weekends and some Sundays may be required. All players are expected to attend practice and games. Playing time will be earned at practice and players who miss practice during the week will see limited time during games. In order to be successful, all players must learn to work as a team and learn the value of being committed to each other on the court. PBB understands that there will be family, religious and school commitments that will arise during the season and exceptions will be made for those activities. (School sports are considered a school related activity.) If a player participates in other activities that conflict with the player attending basketball practices and games (i.e. Soccer, softball, etc.) playing time in games will be limited. If a player plays on another basketball team, the PBB team must be the top priority over the other team for games and practices. Travel League basketball must be the player’s top priority after family, religious and school commitments. During the season, games are held on Saturdays and Sundays. THE ORGANIZATION
The Palm Beach Bulls is an all-volunteer organization. Direction is provided by a Board of Directors that is actively involved in all aspects of the league. Our coaches are a group of individuals with an impressive background in local sports leagues and schools who have demonstrated a positive and supportive outlook with a solid technical background. Each team is assisted by parent volunteers that provide a supportive environment for the players.
