I said yes before I felt ready.

Not brave. Not certain. Just obedient.

I signed for a space I could not see the end of, because God would not let me stop seeing the women who would walk through those doors. Women with the title, the revenue, the résumé, and an empty tank. Women holding the family, the office, the church, and the community together while quietly falling apart.

Here is what building it taught me, Lovey.

Readiness is not a feeling you wait for. It is something you notice afterward, once you have already moved.

If I had waited to feel ready, there would be no room. No marble table. No women laughing so hard they forget, for one hour, everything they carry.

Nobody claps for the kitchen table season.

I was stirring oils in a pot at midnight, trying to heal a skin condition in my family that nothing on a store shelf could touch. No business plan. No audience. No applause.

Just a woman with hurting people and hands that would not sit still.

I thought I was making soap. God was making a method.

Because somewhere in the stirring, He showed me the real work. I was not only trying to heal my family's skin. I was learning how to heal the woman who carried everybody and almost never let herself be carried.

You did not get over it. You got busy.
