This sweet girl, Hazel, is currently at NYCACC in Queens. She was originally adopted in 2020 but was heartbreakingly returned just two weeks ago when her owner could no longer afford the veterinary care she needs.

Now she’s back in a high-intake shelter, overwhelmed and stressed—so much so that she needs medication just to cope. Her entire world changed in an instant.

Hazel weighs about 40 lbs and is friendly with people and other dogs (she just gets nervous at the vet). She’s currently dealing with alopecia and conjunctivitis, and she needs a compassionate adopter willing to help her get the care she deserves so she can truly heal.

This is Kong, he is a pretty special case. This sweet boy lost his original home in a house fire and his previous owners couldn’t keep him. He is an older gentleman, 8+. He unfortunately has an assortment of health issues, including an extra vertebrae that causes him to have a leaky bladder as well as discomfort. He also has eye issues and will require ointment for the remainder of his life.
This boy is looking for a hospice adoption, someone who can take him in and show him love and comfort for the short time that he has left. There will be no adoption fee for any capable and approved adopter looking to welcome this little ham into their home.
You will however, need to allow him to bring his emotional support Kong. He doesn’t leave his kennel without it.
Let’s find this pup the loving home he deserves 🫶🏻

Maggie Update 🐾

Thank you to everyone who shared and donated to help Maggie. Because of your support, we were able to get her the X-ray she urgently needed.

The X-ray showed that Maggie had swallowed a tube sock that was stuck in her intestines, causing the blockage that made her so sick. Thanks to the money raised, Maggie was able to go straight into surgery, where the sock was successfully removed.

We’re very relieved to share that Maggie is now back home with her dad, safe and resting while she recovers. She’s still a little groggy from anesthesia and has some healing to do.

We are incredibly grateful for every share, every message, and every dollar that helped make this possible. Thank you for helping keep Maggie here. 🐾 We are blessed to have your support.

Update!! Adopted!!

New England - can we share Maggie? She's really hoping for a family of her own.

Maggie’s Pet of the Week spotlight is almost over, and before we move on to the next dog who needs our help, we need to pause, because Maggie deserves one more moment in the light.

She’s 9 years old.

Easy-going. Playful. Silly in the way that sneaks up on you.

She walks beautifully on a leash and wears her favorite purple jacket like it’s part of who she is.

Maggie could probably live with another dog if it’s the right fit.

She’d likely be okay with older kids.

No kitties for her, please.

She’s not complicated. She’s not demanding.

She’s the kind of dog you build your life around without even realizing it.

And yet… she’s still here.

Every day, we watch her dream.

Dream that at 9 years old, she’s seen.

Seen by someone out there who might be thinking about her right now, or doesn’t even know yet that she’s been waiting for them too.

This is us asking.

Help us help her.

Share her. Talk about her. Root for her.

And yes, she’s a Patriots fan. Loyal, hopeful, and always believing this could be the season. She might even trade her beloved purple jacket for a Patriots jersey now and then if it helps her find her forever team.

6 years ago today, we said goodbye to one of the best and most amazing girls. As time passes we miss Lilly more and more, it doesn’t get easier but we’re reminded just how lucky we were to have been blessed by her.

Thank you to all who have been by our sides supporing us throughout this journey. I hope Lilly’s doing all her favorite things, playing with the best toys, and her favorite - laying in a sunny spot, feeling the bright warmth of the sun. Most of all, getting spoiled once again by her momma now that they’ve been reunited 🙏💙🙏.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we inform you that this afternoon Lilly crossed the Rainbow Bridge in the arms of her Mom and Dad. There is a hole in our hearts tonight for all who loved her. Her life represents the true devotion, companionship and love an animal brings to our lives. When dogs come into our homes, it is almost certain you will outlive them. When their age creeps up into the double digits they are sure to be a little slower and sometimes their age just takes a toll. Saying goodbye is heart breaking especially to a remarkable pup like Lilly. Unable to hold her own weight, her family invited all her close friends to come hug and kiss her, thank her and help send her off to the Rainbow Bridge with grace and dignity.

Lilly was such an amazing girl to those her knew and loved her, as well as people who never even met her. Lilly’s legacy doesn’t end here, on her behalf we will continue to fight, help and advocate for dogs like her. Her heroism inspires so much hope.

Tonight and forever she will sorely missed, Lilly is and was a true inspiration.

Her family and friends are hurting tonight and are desperate to find some peace. Tears have been flowing all week and will continue into the very near future.
