Know Your Rights at the Polls, Texas!
Voting is more than a date on the calendar — it's a right, and it's protected. As part of our civic engagement work, Lone Star (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated wants every voter to walk into the polls knowing exactly what they're entitled to.
As a registered Texas voter, you have the right to:
✅ Cast a provisional ballot if you're not on the rolls or lack acceptable photo ID
✅ Cast your vote in secret, free from intimidation
✅ Receive a ballot with written instructions, and ask a poll worker how to cast it
✅ Get up to two replacement ballots if you make a mistake
✅ Bring an interpreter, or get help if you can't write, see, or read the ballot
✅ Vote once at any early voting location in your area
✅ Report any concern about your voting rights; File an administrative complaint with the Secretary of State concerning violations of federal and state voting procedures.
If something doesn't feel right at your polling place, speak up — you can report it to the Texas Secretary of State at 1-800-252-8683 or to your local election official. .
