Coach Lopez brings a unique perspective and competitive mindset with professional experience as a player, coach, and official. He has been shaped by an exceptional coaching tree that includes some of the most accomplished minds in Texas high school, collegiate, and combat sports. That influence shows up in the way Coach Lopez develops disciplined, well-rounded athletes.
A former running back and linebacker from Corpus Christi Calallen, Coach Lopez was a multi sport athlete who also excelled in track and powerlifting. He earned a football scholarship to Ranger Junior College before transferring to Bacone College.
After college, Coach Lopez joined the Mixed Martial Arts and Muay Thai teams at Minnesota Martial Arts Academy, where he specialized in jiu jitsu and combat submission wrestling, adding a high level of toughness and technical skill to his training approach.
Today, Coach Lopez serves as a Junior USA Volleyball coach and a football official. He officiates with the Texas Association of Sports Officials (TASO) and the College Football Organization (CFO), working games in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA), Conference USA (CUSA), the Great American Conference (GAC), and serving as an auxiliary official for the United Football League (UFL).
We are fired up to have his leadership, experience, and energy shaping the next generation of athletes at Redline Round Rock!
