Annie's Way Thanksgiving dinner
This 'potluck' style dinner is held at the St. Williams Catholic Church in Round Rock every Thanksgiving day
Food is provided to those that aren't as fortunate to be spending the holiday with loved ones. Volunteers help provide dishes to be served, clean and serve food.

JBKCB - short for "Just Because Kicking Cancer's Butt" - provides care packages to cancer patients at Christmas time, items vary but are sure to keep them warm and feel loved during such a difficult time. JBTeens is short for Just Because Teens, we provide care packages to homeless high school students at Christmas time. Items typically include basic necessities to help keep them clean and focused on continuing their education. Just Because Christmas Project finds sponsors to provide families in need with presents and non perishable food items for the children. Applications are accepted by local organizations who nominate a family in need as well as families that apply because they don't meet the requirements of other local holiday programs. All of our generous sponsors drop off their gifts for their sponsored family at the Robert P Hernandez Middle School in Round Rock Texas where we sort and organize in preparation for the families to pick up their much appreciated gifts the following morning. The sponsors come from the community at large; families sponsoring families, individuals and corporations donating funds. In 2011 we were able to sponsor over 600 families in need, which included over 1,500 children. 2011 was a big year for us as we were able to work with Hero's Night Out and support over 60 families of wounded military, provide care packages to 25 cancer patients (now known as JBKCB) as well as care packages to 50 homeless high school students (now known as JBTeens).

This Valentine’s Day, our hearts are full as we prepare care packages for those fighting cancer at Baylor Scott & White.

Inside each one you’ll find cozy warm socks, soft blankets, puzzles to pass the time, soothing lotions, lip balm, and so many little touches chosen with love — because even in the hardest moments, everyone deserves to feel cared for, comforted, and remembered.

At Just Because, we do this every year not because it’s easy, but because it matters. Because a small gesture can remind someone they’re not alone. Because love doesn’t need a reason — it just shows up.

If you or someone you love has been touched by cancer, please know our hearts are with you — today, tomorrow, and every day you’re carrying this fight. You are seen. You are loved. You are thought of constantly.

We’d be so grateful if you’d help us reach more people who need this comfort. A donation, a share, or even just a kind word means the world. Together, we can wrap a little more love around those who need it most.

Just Because Christmas 2025

What an incredible season it has been!
This year was filled with joy, teamwork, and plenty of holiday spirit thanks to our amazing “elves” who worked tirelessly behind the scenes.
Together, we successfully fulfilled our mission of providing Christmas gifts and holiday meals to families in need sponsoring 450 families and impacting nearly 2,000 children right here in Central Texas. 🍽️🎁

None of this would have been possible without our community rallying together. In less than 48 hours, countless groups and volunteers came together to make distribution happen, and in under two weeks, over $100,000 in sponsorships and donations was raised going directly back into the community through family-to-family support.

From the Hernandez family and all of our key Just Because members, THANK YOU ❤️ . Your generosity, dedication, and heart for service are what make moments like this possible. Our hearts are truly full this Christmas season. ❤️
