Sacred Heart Community Clinic is looking for a Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist
Location: Round Rock, TX
Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to
support both clinical and limited clerical operations. This position plays a vital role in patient care, lab services, and clinic efficiency while upholding the mission of serving medically underserved families with
dignity and respect. Approximate hourly pay range is $18.00 to $22.00 (depending on experience and certification)
Reports To Charge Nurse or other designated clinical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection, including blood draws and routine point-of-care
testing (urinalysis, strep tests, pregnancy tests, IFOBs, etc.)
• Prepare patients for examinations, take and document vital signs, and update patient medical
histories
• Assist providers (MD, DO, NP, PA, RN) with exams, procedures, and treatments
• Set up and operate EKG machines and assist with routine diagnostic testing
• Maintain accurate daily laboratory records and ensure lab results are documented properly
• Prepare, clean, and stock exam rooms and clinical equipment
• Monitor medical and lab supplies and report inventory needs to leadership
• Provide courteous, respectful, and compassionate care to all patients
• Support front-desk functions as needed (phone calls, scheduling, check-in/check-out, referrals)
• Communicate effectively with clinic leadership and staff
• Uphold clinic policies, confidentiality standards, and organizational boundaries
• Support the mission, vision, and values of Sacred Heart Community Clinic
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assistant training or certification preferred
• Spanish fluency (speaking/writing) is preferred, but not required
• Proficiency in phlebotomy and specimen collection
• Strong computer and documentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Commitment to serving medically underserved populations
• Must pass a criminal background check through the Catholic Diocese of Austin
