Heart of the Rock Civitan Club

Heart of the Rock Civitan Club Heart of the Rock Civitan Club was Chartered in October of 2009, in Round Rock, TX., dedicated to serving our community needs.

Civitan International is an organization of volunteer service clubs around the world, dedicated to helping people in their own communities. Civitans help wherever the need arises – from collecting food for a homeless shelter, to volunteering at their local retirement home, to building a playground for children with disabilities. Civitans have been helping people since the organization’s founding i

n 1917, by a group of businessmen determined to make a difference in their community. In the 1950’s, Civitan adopted a special emphasis on helping people with developmental disabilities. Civitan was one of the major supporters of Special Olympics International, and thousands of Civitans still support these local events.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Thanksgiving feast for the family that we adopted from Emerson Academy. The adopted family is a child with Autism who lives with his Dad and Grandparents. They were so grateful and delighted, and it was an honor to share the spirit of Thanksgiving with them. We were able to provide a turkey, veggies, fruit, pie, dinner rolls, pudding, mac ‘n cheese, chicken nuggets, and a $20 HEB gift card for their Thanksgiving meal (and then some!).

We made our family Civitan happy today!!
