Just a quick shout out for our partner vet . Without their generosity and support, we wouldn’t be able to save so many sickly kittens. And Jupiter gives their staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for providing perfect napping spots.

Meet Jupiter, the first CKCF kitten of 2026! This darling boy came into Leander on death’s death coated in fleas, cold, and low blood sugar. Thanks to the teams’ efforts, Jupiter was able to find stability. Amazing vet tech Sarah offered to foster him and has been working around the clock to ensure he remains in stable condition. Despite his malnutrition and poor condition, Jupiter is an absolute love bug! He’s regaining his appetite and will beg for affection. While this is the beginning of his healing journey, we are hopeful that this sweet boy will continue to grow and thrive thanks to his devoted care team.

If you’d like to support Jupiter’s care, he is in need of Royal Canin Mother and Babycat pate and kibble. You can send some through this link: https://smile.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1X78LX2GQ38EA

Keep up the strong work, Jupiter + his fan club!

And just like that, Thana is adopted! Thana came to CKCF a couple months ago from a talented rescuer in Corsicana, TX. Due to the size and lack of funding for the city shelter, they didn’t have the means to care for Thana’s microphthalmia (tiny eyes). We were grateful to have the capacity to get Thana the double enucleation she needed along with troubleshooting her GI issues (food sensitivities). Between collaborating within the rescue community and the amazing care at Leander, Thana now gets to a live her happily ever after. Thanks to all who ensure we’re able to continue taking these special cases! Congrats on forever, Thana!

Welcome Kirky Turkey to the CKCF family! Unlike most of our kittens who we save from the brink of death, Turkey is here to peacefully pass. This darling boy was assumedly like any other kitten until he crashed after his neuter surgery. Thankfully, the team rushed to his aid and revived him. Extensive testing discovered a major congenital heart defect putting him into heart failure. Due to the extra testing and care he needs, we opted to add him to our program so that FLG can focus their funds on other kitties. He’s currently in hospice foster with where he’s getting to live out whatever time he has left in as grand a fashion as possible.

It is due to your generosity that we are able to say yes to these special cases. If you’d like to support our work, you can donate via the link in bio or through our website. If you’d like to support our partners at Ferallife Guards, they can be found at https://ferallifeguards.com/

A belated Chomps update- he’s now a tripod! After months of trying to heal and save his stump, it was decided that it was in his best interest to have an amputation. We considered prosthetics and tried multiple options to make a stump cover, but this boy would do anything to take it off. As he grew, he began trying to beat weight on his stump which caused the thin scar tissue to reopen. After a lot of contemplation and consultation with specialists, the best solution for Chomps was to become a tripod. And now he gets to live his best life ever with his tripod sister and human parents .

Cases like Chomps are never easy, and we are grateful for your support so we can exhaust the options to find the absolute best solutions for these unique cases. We may be a small rescue, but we are thankful to give specialized care to each kitten.

Congrats on your happily ever after, buddy!

Meet Griffin! This boy came to CKCF in May after coming into severely emaciated with an upper respiratory infection. A volunteer reached out after concern he was too frail to survive the night in the shelter. Thankfully, after a visit from Leander and with the help of medications, he bounced right back. We’re happy to report that he has since been adopted and has a big kitty brother and parents to adore him.

Thanks to all of our supporters, we’re able to say yes to these fragile babies. We are grateful to have played a part in Griffin’s happily ever after. Thank you!
