Meetinghouse Restoration – Week 7 Update: This week was a VERY EXCITING WEEK at the Meetinghouse – LOTS of progress was made!! The blue v***r barrier went down and made the Meetinghouse look like we might be adding a swimming pool! With the v***r barrier installed, our amazing contractors got to work on placing the beams. Each beam is made up of 7 boards bolted together in a wave like pattern. The beams rest on the cement tubes and are secured to the foundation with large metal brackets. With the beams in place, the contractors were able to install the joists which go perpendicular to the beams and are secured by joist hangers. As our contractor, Tom, said, the flooring will be on a very secure base! The subfloor was starting to be installed on Friday! Can’t wait to see what Week 8 brings! Follow along as we restore this beautiful 1853 building into a community center for all in the heart of Round Pond Village
