🌙 IS YOUR HOUSE NUMBER VISIBLE IN THE DARK? 🌙
Imagine there is an emergency at your home. The ambulance is rushing down your street. Every second counts. But our crew is slowing down, shining spotlights, and searching because your house number is hidden in the dark. In an emergency, minutes matter. We cannot help you if we cannot find you! Please take a moment tonight to walk down to the street. Look back at your house. Can you see your numbers clearly? Are they blocked by trees or bushes? Are they reflective?

It takes a community to keep us running. ❤️

Over the past year, we’ve been incredibly thankful for the local businesses and partners who have supported RHVFR behind the scenes. From station maintenance and vehicle service to equipment, projects, and event support — it takes a lot to keep things moving.

Your support helps us continue serving Round Hill and the surrounding community every day, and we are truly grateful for each and every partnership.

Thank you for standing with us!

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten.

From all of us at Round Hill Volunteer Fire & Rescue, we wish everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day as we pause to reflect on those who gave everything for our freedom. 🇺🇸

Yesterday’s Hometown Festival brought smiles, laughter, and community togetherness, but it also served as a reminder of why fire and rescue services matter so deeply to every community.

During the festival, a local family experienced a house fire. Moments like these remind us how quickly life can change and how important it is to have dedicated responders ready to help neighbors in their time of need.

Our thoughts are with the family affected, as well as the crews who responded and supported them through a difficult afternoon.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support fire and rescue organizations throughout Loudoun County. Your support helps ensure help is always nearby when it matters most.

Accidental Fire Displaces Round Hill Family

The Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Fire Marshal’s Office (LCFR-FMO) is offering fire prevention tips after an accidental fire heavily damaged a home on Tedler Circle.

Just after 11:30 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2026, the Loudoun County Emergency Communications Center received a call reporting a structure fire in the 17000 block of Tedler Circle in Round Hill. Fire and rescue units from Purcellville, Hamilton, Philomont, Mount Weather, Leesburg, Clarke County, and command officers responded to the scene.

Firefighters arrived to find a two-story single-family home with fire visible from the front and sides of the structure. Fire crews quickly deployed hose lines to attack the fire and requested a Rapid Intervention Task Force to bring additional resources. Searches of the home confirmed all occupants were out of the structure. Crews worked to extinguish the fire that had extended into the living space of the home. Once the fire was extinguished, firefighters remained on scene for an extended period overhauling the structure.

The LCFR-FMO investigation determined the fire was accidental, caused by the improper disposal of recently used wood chips from a smoker into a plastic container in the garage. Damages to the home are estimated at $348,480 ($211,200 structure, $137,280 contents). Two adults, three juveniles, four cats, and two dogs were displaced and are staying locally. There were no injuries to civilians or first responders.

As we move into summer and grilling season begins, ensure your equipment is ready and follow these important safety measures when cooking outdoors:
• For propane grills, check the gas tank for leaks by applying a soap and water solution to the hose. A propane leak will release bubbles. If it’s leaking, turn off the gas tank and the grill. If the leak stops, get the grill serviced by a professional before using it. If the leak does not stop, call 911.
• Keep your grill clean by removing grease or fat buildup from the grills and in trays below the grill.
• Ensure grills are at least 15 feet from the structure, away from siding, deck railings and anything flammable, and a safe distance from eaves and overhanging branches.
• Keep children and pets at least 3 feet away from the grilling area and never leave a grill unattended.
• If you use starter fluid when charcoal grilling, only use charcoal starter fluid. Never add lighter fluid or any other flammable liquids to the fire.
• Most importantly, when you are finished grilling or smoking, let the coals cool completely before disposing into a metal container, away from any structures.
For additional fire prevention and life safety information, visit the LCFR-FMO website at loudoun.gov/fireprevention or call 703-737-8093.

Rain or shine, the show goes on ☔❤️

RHVFR has been part of the Hometown Festival from the very beginning, and while rain may not be our preference, we’re ready to roll with the punches and make the best of it — just like we always do.

🎉 Parade steps off at 10 AM

Our apparatus bays — along with additional canopy space — will be open for the community to stay dry and enjoy the parade festivities.

🍖 Following the parade, our famous BBQ will be served hot and fresh! Stop by for a pulled pork sandwich, grab a seat inside the bays, and enjoy lunch with us out of the rain or to go! We will also have family BBQ meals available to take home!

The Hometown Festival is one of our largest fundraisers each year, and your continued support truly means the world to our volunteers. Every sandwich purchased helps support the equipment, training, and response capabilities that allow us to continue serving Round Hill and the surrounding community.

So even if the weather isn’t perfect, we hope you’ll still come out, grab lunch, and spend part of your day with us. ❤️

❤️🤍💙 Stay Tuned as we finalize details with the Committee but even with a little rain we can have the best day ever!

We need this rain…we need this rain…we need this rain…
The Festival Committee is watching the forecast closely and scrambling behind-the-scenes to make a call for how to safely make Saturday the Best Day of the Year in Round Hill.
Please stay tuned. We will let you know the plans as soon as we have them!
Till then, the 5k and parade will go on as planned, rain or no rain — so break out those rain jackets and umbrellas!
