Sarkis Topchyan, August 24, 1949 – June 4, 2026

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Sarkis Topchyan, who entered eternal
rest on June 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and dear friends.
Sarkis is survived by his beloved wife, Tanya Topchyan; his son and daughter-in-law,
Avik and Katarina Topchyan; his daughter and son-in-law, Yeva and Delaney Mohr; and
his cherished granddaughters, Mariam Topchyan, Izabela Mohr, and Sasha Mohr. He
will be profoundly missed by his family, his many friends, and all whose lives were
enriched by his presence, both in the United States and in the land of his birth.
Sarkis was born on August 24, 1949, in an Armenian village in the Republic of
Abkhazia, Georgia. He received his early education at an Armenian school and later
earned a Bachelor's degree with honors in Mechanical Engineering in Moscow.
Following his graduation, he began a successful career in the automobile manufacturing
industry. After many years of dedicated work, he embraced a new profession as an
electrician, a trade he continued with pride after immigrating to Atlanta in 1994.
Throughout his life, Sarkis was known for his strength, generosity, resilience, and
unwavering devotion to his family and friends. He possessed a rare gift for connecting
with people from all walks of life and making everyone feel welcome. Guided by a
strong moral compass and deeply held principles, he lived with honesty, integrity, and a
profound sense of fairness. Those who knew him respected not only his wisdom and
character but also his steadfast commitment to doing what was right, even when it was
difficult. Whether offering practical help, words of encouragement, or simply making
people feel at ease with his sense of humor, he touched countless lives through his
kindness and compassion.
Sarkis took great pride in his Armenian heritage and remained deeply connected to his
community, preserving traditions and fostering friendships wherever he went.
The Armenian community of Atlanta will remember Sarkis for his warm smile, joyful
spirit, open heart, and willingness to help others without hesitation. His legacy lives on
in the family he loved, the friendships he cherished, and the countless acts of kindness
he shared throughout his life.
Though his presence will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the love he
gave so freely will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew him.
May his memory be eternal.

May God illuminate his soul
