Congratulations, well deserved Mona Megahed!
Congratulations to Dr. Mona Megahed on receiving the Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award!
Mona has been a Scout parent for nearly a decade. Since her daughters joined Troop 12 in 2022, she has served the troop as Medical Officer and Life to Eagle Coach. As co-founder of Ethaar, a nonprofit that helps refugee families build lives in the United States with dignity, stability and opportunity, she hopes to bring Scouting to refugee and underserved youth, potentially through an Ethaar-sponsored troop. A pediatrician at East Cobb Pediatrics and Harmony Pediatrics, Mona is passionate about preventive care and educating youth about safety, health and digital citizenship. Her service has earned honors including recognition as one of O, The Oprah Magazine's Health Heroes and CAIR-GA's Community Service Award. Congratulations, Mona, and thank you for your dedication to Scouting!
The Whitney M. Young Jr. Service Award Reception will be held on November 5 at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. Learn more at ScoutingATL.org/WMY
