From its headquarters in Roswell, the Council serves Eddy, Curry, Roosevelt, DeBaca, Chavez and Lincoln counties. Conquistador Council administers Scouting programs that build character, train young people in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develop personal fitness in Southeastern New Mexico. graphical districts: Chisum Trail (Eddy County), El Llano Grande (Curry, Roosevelt and DeBaca counties), Oil Patch (Lea County), Rio Hondo (Chaves County) and Sierra Blanca (Lincoln County). These districts are dedicated to the advancement of Scouting in their local communities. Conquistador Council is led by volunteers, with administration performed by a staff of professional Scouters. The Council President is the top volunteer; the Scout Executive is the top professional and the Council Commissioner coaches, consults and helps maintain the standards of the Boy Scouts of America. Conquistador Council owns and operates three camp properties: Wehinahpay Mountain Camp New Mexico‘s Sacramento Mountains; Dowling Aquatic Base on the Pecos River in Carlsbad; and Camp Jim Murray Training Center, located just west of Hobbs, New Mexico. The Council also operates a Scout Shop at its headquarters in the S.P. Yates Scout Service Center in Roswell.
