Today our Scouts rolled up their sleeves, laced up their boots, and headed out for a road clean-up service project!
What could have been “just picking up trash” turned into something much bigger — teamwork, leadership, laughter, and real community impact.

🥶🔥 Troop 1717 Takes on the Deep Freeze! 🔥🥶

Our Troop 1717 scouts just wrapped up an unforgettable high-adventure cold weather camping trip to Ely, MN—and wow, did they earn their bragging rights!

Temperatures dropped to a bone-chilling -15°F, but spirits stayed high as the scouts learned serious cold-weather survival skills, teamwork, and resilience.

Highlights?
❄️ Thriving in sub-zero temps
🧀 Eating legendary “boot cheese” (don’t ask… just respect the bravery 😄)
💪 Proving that Scouts can handle anything Mother Nature throws their way

So proud of these kids for stepping outside their comfort zones and into the cold! This is adventure, leadership, and memories that will last a lifetime. 🏕️🧤

Troop 1717 was climbing to new heights this last weekend!! Our Scouts had an action-packed adventure. From building confidence and teamwork to challenging themselves mentally and physically, this climb is all about growth, grit, and fun.

Troop 1717 kicked off the holiday season by participating in the 50 feet tree lighting in Downtown Alpharetta on Saturday, November 22, 2025. There were marshmallow roasting, carolers, and more! It was a great experience with family and friends!!

Troop 1717 had a VERY important camping trip on August 15-17, 2025. The Annual Water Sports & Planning Campout at Ducket Mill @ Lake Lanier was attended by most the troop members.

The weekend included fun & adventures on the water as well as group think on Troop activities for the year.

Some members of Troop 1717 enjoyed a backpacking trip to The Roan Highlands on Juiy 18-20.

Roan Highlands is a 15-mile stretch of the Appalachian Trail that includes some of the most spectacular views in the Southeastern U.S..
