The summer First Tee camp took place at Lake Carlsbad Golf Course last week. It was a rainy week but we had a great time regardless of the weather. We practiced some new putting games and brought back some old favorites then cooled off with aome fun water games. See you again in July, Carlsbad! 💙⛳️💙

This scholarship honors the legacy of Jay Moum, whose life was defined by his deep commitment to young people, the game of golf, and the values of integrity, perseverance, and character. Through this award, we seek to celebrate Jay’s lasting impact by supporting the next generation of students who embody those same principles.

This opportunity is open to graduating high school seniors from Arizona, New Mexico, and Minnesota who demonstrate a genuine love for the game of golf, strong character, and a commitment to academic achievement.

First Tee of Southeastern New Mexico kicked off the summer season with Camp #1 this week, celebrating both America’s 250th anniversary and First Tee’s 21st anniversary!

Throughout the week, coaches created a fun carnival-themed experience with stations focused on developing golf skills, including putting, chipping, pitching, and driving. Participants rotated through each activity while building confidence, learning new skills, and enjoying time with friends.

To wrap up an exciting week, campers cooled off with a variety of water games, including Water Balloon Chipping, the Super Soaker Golf Ball Blaster, and Pass the Sponge. The laughter and friendly competition made for a memorable finish to a fantastic camp. Campers of the Week: Littles - Kannon Rameriz, Mids - Westyn Atkinson, Bigs - Cannon Creed

At First Tee – Southeastern New Mexico, we believe golf is more than a game — it is an opportunity to build confidence, create friendships, and provide experiences where every child feels welcomed, supported, and celebrated.

We are incredibly grateful for our partnership with Toro and First Tee HQ, which helped make a truly special day possible for participants with special needs in our community. Through this collaboration, we were able to create an inclusive golf experience where children of all abilities had the opportunity to learn, play, smile, and discover what they are capable of accomplishing.

Toro captured the heart of this event in a beautiful video highlighting not only the impact of the program, but the amazing participants, families, volunteers, and coaches who make First Tee so special.

First Tee-Southeastern New Mexico was excited to welcome the Stone Stars to a field trip Rockwind Community Links after the students demonstrated outstanding dedication to their academics and attendance throughout the school year.

During their visit, students rotated through a variety of fun golf stations, including Spider Web Putting, Big Shark Chipping, and Sharks & Minnows Putting. Each activity helped students develop golf fundamentals while encouraging teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship.

The day concluded with a friendly game of Baseball Golf and a picnic under the big tree on the Par 3 course, giving everyone a chance to relax and enjoy the beautiful day.

The coaches at First Tee-Southeastern New Mexico would like to thank the students, teachers, and Principal Heather Campbell for making the day such a success. We appreciate your enthusiasm, positive attitudes, and excellent behavior throughout the field trip.

Murray Elementary Earns a Day at the Course!

The students from Murray Elementary School were awarded a field trip with First Tee-Southeastern New Mexico at Rockwind Community Links after excelling in both academics and attendance throughout the school year.

During their visit, students rotated through several fun and engaging golf stations, including Big Shark Chipping, Sharks & Minnows Putting, and Full Swing Driving. They also enjoyed a spirited game of Baseball Golf, where they put their newly learned skills to the test while having fun with their classmates.

To cap off an exciting day, the students enjoyed lunch at Rockwind Grill before heading home.

The coaches at First Tee of Southeastern New Mexico would like to extend a special thank you to the students of Murray Elementary. Their outstanding manners, positive attitudes, and respectful behavior made the day even more enjoyable. We are incredibly proud of each student and congratulate them on earning this well-deserved reward through their hard work and dedication.

Students from Broadmoor Elementary enjoyed an exciting golf course field trip at Rockwind Community Links with the coaches and staff from First Tee of Southeastern NM. The students rotated through interactive golf stations including Corn Hole Chipping, Sharks & Minnows Putting, and Spider Web Putting while learning important golf fundamentals and teamwork skills. After a picnic lunch on the Par 3 course, the students wrapped up the day with Baseball Golf, group pictures, and a chance to spin the prize wheel.

The staff at First Tee-Southeastern New Mexico would like to thank the students and teachers from Broadmoor Elementary for their amazing manners. We loved spending the day with you and continuing our mission of creating good golfers and even better people!
