We hope that all of you are healthy and safe in this coronavirus pandemic. Please continue to do those things you know to do to limit your exposure.
Please be reminded of a few things:
1) Umtil further notice, there will NO gatherings or meetings of Historic Roswell Kiwanis, including tomorrow.
2) Our next Historic Roswell Kiwanis luncheon meeting will be on April 16 at the earliest, but this is tentative – it may be later. The Georgia Kiwanis Governor has asked that we not meet before April 13. Our Kiwanis International President has asked that we postpone all events, including meetings, projects and fundraisers, through the month of April. Your club leadership will reassess our future meetings in a few days or a week or so.
3) We will not meet for our Governor’s Official Visit on March 19 which has tentatively been rescheduled for May 7.
4) Our next KCHR board meeting is tentatively still on for April 14, but this may be rescheduled.
5) If you are in need of help with your groceries or other necessities, please call on your fellow Kiwanians or respond to [email protected]
6) Historic Roswell Kiwanis Meals on Wheels will operate today and Friday. Volunteers for this week and at other times have been contacted with new rules for pickup and delivery of meals.
7) Dr. Nichole Saphier and Dr. Anthony Fauci have said that the more and sooner we follow social distancing suggestions, hand washing, and other protocols, the sooner we will get through this. Please, please, please avoid large groups and use every precaution.
8) Things you can do:
a. Consider giving blood. There is a very severe blood shortage due to increased patient needs and an unprecedented number of blood drive cancellations due to the coronavirus outbreak. You will be safe and possible contact with others will be strictly limited. The American Red Cross is prepared to receive your donation in a safe manner and have implemented Enhanced Blood Donation Safety Protocols.
b. Remember your neighbors. Keep in mind local businesses and restaurants. While you shouldn’t visit these establishments except for groceries or the pharmacy (many businesses and restaurants are closed for your personal visit), you might consider ordering take-out to help these businesses, especially restaurants. Hourly workers will be taking a big hit due to limited or no hours to work.
c. Give to a human services agency. North Fulton Community Charities and other groups are in need of help for their clients. Many residents are hourly workers and will have a tough time with rent, mortgages or whatever. Click here for m0re from NFCC.
9) Don’t lose heart, be of good cheer and remember “This, too, will pass.” If we work together and take care of each other, this may well be our finest hour.
