Roswell Elks Lodge #969

Roswell Elks Lodge #969 Elks #969 creates and participates in many programs to better the Roswell community and demonstrate that Elks Care - Elks Share!

Roswell Elks Lodge 969 is a private Lodge. You must be a member of an Elks Lodge, a prospective member signed into the Lodge guest book by a member (no more than 3 times in a lifetime, after 3 times you must make the decision to become a member or no longer come to the Lodge), or an out of town guest of a member signed into the Lodge guest book to enjoy the amenities and events held our Lodge. Our

local Elks Lodge has a variety of amenities and events to enjoy for our members! Inside the Lodge we have a small casino, lounge, dining room, and ballroom. Outside we have RV hookups, picnic tables, and of course our offsite pool! The summer includes many outdoor events. The pool opens on Memorial Day and closes Labor Day. Our entertainment chairperson works diligently to book fun events year round. Our monthly newsletter includes a calendar to keep you up to date on upcoming events. We also offer lunch every Tuesday through Saturday, and dinner Wednesday through Saturday, and potluck Sundays to enjoy sports on several TVs. Our meetings are the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm. Our youth are very important to us as well. The Easter Egg Hunt, Breakfast with Santa, Halloween, and the Annual Hoop Shoot are a few of their favorite activities. Charity is why we are here though. Our Lodge gives to numerous charities including Cerebral Palsy, Veteran's programs, Scholarships, Elks National Drug Awareness Program, dictionary program, youth sports, school clubs, help with medical needs and many other requests. For the most part our Lodge is run by volunteers. We always need our members to lend a hand to pull off events and volunteer. If you can volunteer for any upcoming events, please send us a message on FB messenger and we will point you in the right direction!

Elks in Action

The Roswell Elks Lodge #969 held their 17th annual Elks for Vets Charity Golf Tournament on 6-6-26 at the New Mexico Military Institute golf course in Roswell, NM. The committee raised $26,500.00 to help the SENM Veterans Transportation Network.

The SENM Veterans Transportation Network serves local Veterans by providing transportation for them, free of charge to VA medical facilities from Roswell, Artesia, Carlsbad, Hobbs, Clovis, and the surrounding communities. Over 50% of their operating budget comes from donations from this event. Best of all 100% of the sponsor monies raised from this event are donated directly to this great cause.

The Roswell Elks Veterans Golf Committee has raised over the years upwards of $600,000.00 for Veterans. Way to go Roswell!!!

MEDIA ALERT – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Elks Lodges Nationwide to Celebrate Flag Day

Chicago, IL – June 14, 2026 – As the nation celebrates America 250, thousands of Americans will gather at Elks Lodges across the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Panama Canal Zone to honor Flag Day, continuing one of the country’s oldest and most distinguished patriotic traditions.

Long before Flag Day became an official federal observance, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks was honoring the American flag. In 1908, the Elks Grand Lodge formally established June 14 as Flag Day, making the Elks the only fraternal organization in the nation that mandates an annual formal Flag Day ceremony in every Lodge.

The Elks’ unwavering commitment to patriotism helped elevate Flag Day into the national spotlight. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson officially proclaimed June 14 as Flag Day, and in 1949, President Harry S. Truman—an Elks member from Independence, Missouri—signed legislation permanently recognizing it as a national observance.

As America marks its 250th anniversary, the Elks continue to stand among the nation’s leading forces for patriotism, charity, and community service. For 158 years, Elks members have strengthened communities and supported the nation through service and generosity, contributing more than $15 billion in charitable donations nationwide.

In 2025 alone, Elks members donated an estimated $550 million in cash, goods, and volunteer service supporting veterans, youth programs, scholarships, food initiatives, and critical local community needs.

With 1,841 Lodges and 800,000 members nationwide, the Elks continue to promote American values, civic pride, and love of country in communities large and small.

“During America’s 250th anniversary year, Flag Day carries even greater meaning,” said Elks officials. “It is a celebration of our nation’s history, our freedoms, and the enduring unity symbolized by the American flag.”

Communities are encouraged to attend local Elks Flag Day ceremonies and experience a patriotic tradition that has inspired generations of Americans for more than a century.
