Honored to host yesterdayโ€™s District 1 meeting at VFW Post 3679 โ€” Chickamauga alongside our VFW! We were thrilled to welcome comrades and members from Posts 2681 (Marietta), 4911 (Rome), 5262 (Canton), 5376 (Calhoun), 5408 (Acworth), 6570 (Blue Ridge), 6688 (Summerville), 7402 (Buchanan), and 12239 (Jasper).

We kicked off the day with a productive joint session led by:

โ€ข District 1 Auxiliary President, Michelle Daniel
โ€ข Department of GA Auxiliary President, Dawn Lemay
โ€ข Department of GA Sr. Vice Commander, Sherrod Conyers

After breaking for a great lunch packed with fellowship and camaraderie, our Auxiliary moved into our individual business session. D1 President Michelle Daniel ran a fantastic first meeting of the new fiscal year! We covered vital groundwork, selected our District Program Chairmen, and set the stage for an impactful year ahead.

We are especially excited about the updated reporting process rolling out this year. A HUGE thank you to VFW State Judge Advocate, digital marketing guru, and professional hat-juggler, Dwayne Kilbourne, for bringing these digital advancements to life for state reporting. We are so grateful for everything you do for both the VFW and the Auxiliary!

Weโ€™re dedicated to learning, growing, and bringing back the best tools and resources to support our veterans, active-duty service members, and local community.

On Saturday, March 14th, our Auxiliary had a truly meaningful and impactful meeting day!

๐Ÿงธ๐Ÿ’™ We were honored to present toys and blankets to our local police in support of the ๐‚๐จ๐ฆ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐Š๐ข๐๐ฌ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐จ๐ ๐ซ๐š๐ฆ, helping bring comfort to children in difficult moments.

๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ We also welcomed ๐–๐š๐ซ๐ซ๐ข๐จ๐ซ ๐…๐ซ๐ž๐ž๐๐จ๐ฆ ๐’๐ž๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐ƒ๐จ๐ ๐ฌ, where Executive Director ๐Œ๐จ๐ง๐ข๐œ๐š ๐๐ข๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ shared her powerful personal story as a U.S. Army veteran. She spoke about the incredible work being done to support veterans facing service-induced brain injuries such as ๐๐“๐’ and ๐“๐๐ˆ.

๐Ÿชกโค๏ธ The ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฌ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐•๐š๐ฅ๐จ๐ซ ๐…๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง also held a special ceremony to honor three of our amazing veterans:

Last Saturday, District 1 gathered at VFW Post 5408 in Acworth, GA for a great day of fellowship and business. District Commander, Sean Griffin, and District President, Brenda Brake, both led successful and productive meetings.

We are incredibly proud to share that VFW Auxiliary Post 3679 was recognized as the ๐จ๐ง๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐€๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐š๐ซ๐ฒ ๐ข๐ง ๐ƒ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐œ๐ญ ๐Ÿ to reach ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ’% ๐ฆ๐ž๐ฆ๐›๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ to date! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ What an accomplishment!

We also had one district-level winner in the Voice of Democracy program โ€” congratulations to ๐‹๐š๐ง๐๐จ๐ง ๐‡๐จ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ (not pictured) on this outstanding achievement!

Additionally, our very own ๐‹๐ญ. ๐‚๐จ๐ฅ. ๐๐š๐ฎ๐ฅ ๐‡๐š๐ซ๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐ญ was awarded the Smart/Maher Citizenship Education Award for ๐“๐ž๐š๐œ๐ก๐ž๐ซ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐˜๐ž๐š๐ซ at the district level. We are so proud of his dedication to citizenship and education!
