Fraternity of the 4 Paws Inc Foster-based dog rescue focusing on helping the community in and around Walker County Ga.

Our mission is: To work with local Animal welfare organizations both public and private to reduce the number of dogs euthanized in shelters due to overcrowding by utilizing fosters to ease the burden on local shelters. Educate the public on the positive impact of spaying and neutering, yearly vaccinations as well as the importance of exercise, enrichment, and nutrition in addition to containment for the safety and wellbeing of all dogs.

🐭🚨 The mice won this round, but our community is fighting back! 🚨🐭

Mice chewed through a critical part of the mini split unit on one side of our kennel. That unit keeps our dogs warm through the cold nights and cool in the heat.

💙 A HUGE thank you to Air Heat , who originally donated this mini split unit to our kennel and have now generously donated the repair too! Their support keeps our dogs comfortable year round. Please show them some love and keep them in mind for your own heating and air needs.

Now we need to make sure this doesn't happen again. Our kennel building is old and tired, and the mice keep finding new ways in. Until our new facility is built, we have to keep this one safe and livable for the dogs who depend on it.

Here's what we need:
💵 Donations for sealing the kennel and general upkeep. Goal: $500
🛠️ Handy volunteers to help find and seal the holes where the mice are getting in
📦 Supplies: steel wool, copper mesh, hardware cloth, expanding foam, caulk, and mouse traps (no poisons, please, since we have dogs on site)

Every dollar and every set of hands keeps these dogs safe while they wait for their families. 🐾

🐾 Our LAST Free Adoption Event is this Saturday! 🐾

This is your last chance to adopt fee-free with The Rescue Effect! Thanks to the ASPCA, adoption fees are covered at Saturday's event at PetSmart on Gunbarrel Road.

Come meet Sophia and the rest of our adoptable dogs. We'll have puppies and adult dogs looking for their people, and our volunteers will be there to answer questions and help you find the right match.

There's still time to join us! Sarah Puckett of Heel to Heal is leading tonight's group session, all about leash skills: how to hold it, how to walk it, and how to set your dog up to succeed.

The leash is your first connection with your dog. It's where communication starts and trust begins to grow.

Never been to a class? No problem. You don't need to have come to any previous sessions. Everyone is welcome!

Fosters and adopters, we'd love to see you there. These are skills you'll use with every dog you ever have.

Sarah Puckett of Heel to Heal is leading another group session focused entirely on leash skills — how to hold it, how to walk it, and how to set your dog up to succeed.

The leash is your first connection with your dog. It's where communication starts and where trust begins to grow. When you learn to use it well, you're not just teaching your dog to walk nicely — you're building the foundation of your whole relationship.

New to the classes? You don't need to have come to any of the previous sessions to join this one. Everyone is welcome to jump right in!

We highly encourage all of our fosters and adopters to attend. These aren't just skills for the dog in front of you right now — they're skills you'll carry with you for the rest of your life, with every dog you ever have.

This past week, we said goodbye alongside 2 families in our community.

Neither dog was an F4P dog. They were loved family pets whose people were facing the hardest decision there is, without the means to make it happen. So we showed up. We covered 2 end-of-life visits so these dogs could leave this world peacefully and without pain, with the people who loved them most by their side.

We will never regret that. Helping our community isn't just about adoptions. Sometimes it's about making sure a dog's last moments are gentle, and that a family doesn't have to go through it alone.

But we have to be honest with you: it stretched our budget past its limit. Each end-of-life visit runs $150 with communal cremation, or $250 if the family wants their dog's ashes returned. Last week, one family chose communal cremation and the other brought their dog home one last time.

That's $400 we didn't have budgeted, and we still have adoptable dogs in care, vet bills on the books, and a kennel full of pups counting on us.

Help us raise $400 to cover these 2 goodbyes. Any amount helps us keep saying yes when our neighbors need us. If you can't give right now, sharing this post means just as much.

Quan was dumped across state lines by the people who promised to love him. Now he's running out of time. 💔

This handsome Shepherd mix was pulled from Lifeline in Atlanta just minutes before his deadline. Since then, he's been passed from home to home, and then the family who took him drove him into Kentucky and left him there.

A kind officer found him, helped us bring him back, and pursued charges against the people who abandoned him. But Quan is the one still paying for it.

Here's what you need to know: Quan is a GOOD dog. 🐾

For THREE MONTHS now, he's been waiting at a boarding kennel, where John has been working with him every day. The verdict? Great dog. He just needs someone who will slow down and give him time.

But three months is a long time for a dog to live in a kennel, and his time there is running out. Our emergency kennel is full, and Quan desearves a real home, fast.

Quan needs:
✅ An experienced dog handler
✅ Someone committed to a true decompression period (we'll give you the guide and walk you through it)
✅ Patience while he learns that this time, people won't give up on him

Quan has been let down over and over. We refuse to let his story end this way.

🐾 Anna & Belle need foster homes, and they've already done the hard part 🐾

Four months ago, we pulled three puppies out of Catoosa County. They were covered in mange and scabs, itchy, miserable, and hairless. Their sibling has since found a foster home. Anna and Belle are still waiting.

These girls have healed beautifully. They're now about 7–8 months old, cattle dog mixes, and they've spent most of their recovery in an outdoor 10x10 run. This weekend they went into a temporary foster home, and guess what? They picked up crate training and house training almost immediately. They were just waiting for someone to give them the chance.

We think people scroll past because they're black and have that blocky-head look. But these are cattle dog girls: smart, loyal, quick to learn, and happiest with a person to bond with.

Their temp home is just that, temporary. They need two separate foster homes so each girl can get the one-on-one attention she deserves and really blossom.

They went from scabs and an outdoor pen to sleeping in a real house, and they're thriving. Help us make sure they never go back. 💛

4 very deserving young dogs landed back at the emergency kennel last night.

🐾 Carley is a 9 month old puppy we pulled with her mom Meka and siblings from Catoosa County Animal Control. They were just little when we got them and her and her sister have grown up in a foster home!

🐾 Anna and Belle also pulled from Catoosa with their sister. They had Demodex mange, covered in scabs and missing the majority of their coat. Don't tell them because they've long since recovered and grown their beautiful hair back!

🐾 Daisy is a 6 month old beagle mix puppy, very sweet but very scared here in the kennel with the big dogs! May just need short term if her previous foster takes her back when she returns from vacation.

Ideally we get these guys out to foster homes before the storm tomorrow! Most all of them are at least house and crate trained and good with other dogs and cats! Everyone will need a brief decompression after any transition. We give you all the resources to help them settle in as quickly as possible!
