Rosiclare Memorial Public Library The Rosiclare Memorial Public Library has served Southern Illinois since 1946 and is currently undergoing many changes so we can better serve you!

We offer many programs and services to the community that we would love for you to come and take advantage of! Marie Samuel has generously donated 3 quilted wall hangings to be raffled off on Fluorspar Day this year. Tickets are $1 for one or 6 for $5 and are available at the library anytime between noon and 5:00 Monday through Friday. The Friends of the Library will also be selling tickets.

Samuel is a graduate of the University of Arizona and a retired Art Educator from the Carterville School District. Her background in education remains an important part of her identity as she continues to actively share her skills by teaching workshops on a wide range of art subjects. Her personal practice spans painting, collage, textiles, and mixed media, with quilts and fiber work as a signature element of her style. Samuel’s work has been shown both nationally and internationally, reflecting the broad appeal and expressive depth of her artistic style.

We had a wonderful turnout for our program with Animal Tales! Meet our wonderful animal guests: Sam and Sally the hissing cockroaches, Luna the legless lizard, Einstein the red-and-green macaw, Franklin the redfooted tortoise, and Shadow the python. 🦜🐍

Thank you to our presenter, Grant Allen, for giving our patrons the opportunity to get up close with these amazing animals and learn about them. And thank you, Friends of the Library, for sponsoring this amazing program!!
