The Academy is committed to upholding the Rule of Law and preserving the integrity of the legal profession.
In that spirit, and not for any partisan purpose, we recently asked federal courts to scrutinize the “settlement” Todd Blanche, then Acting Attorney General of the United States, sought to implement with President Trump.
Following the District Court’s troubling findings, the Academy now urges the Senate to delay Blanche’s confirmation hearing pending a full review.

This Fourth of July, we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation's Declaration of Independence, which gave voice to a bold promise of self-government, liberty, and justice for all.

For many Americans, that promise remains an unfulfilled ideal.

We can make that promise more tangible by defending our founding principles, confronting the ways our nation has fallen short, and upholding the Rule of Law that makes equal justice possible.

The Rule of Law is central to the Academy's mission. It protects individual rights and ensures that no person is above the law and no person is beneath its protection.

Today, the Academy recommits to protecting and promoting the Rule of Law.

We wish you and your families a safe and happy Independence Day.
