Raised in Hawaiʻi, Carla brings deep ukulele roots, a love of jazz and blues, and a warm, welcoming teaching style to every workshop. We’re excited to share how Saints Peter and Paul School is building a lasting ukulele tradition for its students! 🎶

Through a new in-school third-grade ukulele program, every student will have the opportunity to sing, strum, learn musical skills, and discover the joy of making music together—without extra fees or after-school barriers.

Led by music teacher Roxanne, the program will build on the school’s growing K–8 music curriculum and help students move from singing music to playing it with their own hands. A classroom set of ukuleles will serve new third-grade classes year after year, creating a meaningful and lasting investment in music education.

Please consider supporting this effort and helping put ukuleles into the hands of local children.

🎶 Robert Semple Elementary School is ready to strum! 🎶

Ukes for Schools is proud to support music learning at Robert Semple Elementary School in Benicia with a donation of ukuleles for students in 1st through 3rd grade and special education classes.

Under the guidance of music educator Gabriel Guevara, students will explore rhythm, singing, simple chords, and ensemble playing—while building confidence, focus, creativity, cooperation, and empathy along the way.

For many young learners, this will be their first opportunity to hold and play a string instrument. We cannot wait to hear the songs, see the smiles, and celebrate every new chord!

Help us put more music into young hands. Donate to Ukes for Schools today:
