Hockey is more than a game—it’s an opportunity to connect, learn, and change lives.
Today, Minnesota Blind Hockey was honored to host a table at the Hendrickson Foundation Golf Festival.
We had the opportunity to introduce golfers and hockey supporters to blind hockey, our amazing community, and some of the many different visual conditions that impact our players and so many others every day.
Our interactive experience gave participants the chance to step into the world of our players. They could choose a pair of glasses simulating one of eight different visual impairments and then had three chances to get a puck into one of two small nets. What started as a fun challenge quickly became an opportunity to better understand the experiences and challenges faced by our players and so many others every day.
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, took on the challenge, and supported Minnesota Blind Hockey and the entire diversified hockey community. We also had some special opportunities to engage with current and former NHL players including Olympic Gold Medalists and Stanley Cup Champions.
And to the Hendrickson Foundation, thank you for continuing to create spaces where hockey is truly for everyone. Your generosity, vision, and commitment to making hockey more accessible are life-changing. We are incredibly grateful to be part of your mission and for everything you do!
In addition to hosting all of this at our hole were also honored to have two of our Blind Hockey staff/parents volunteer at another hole supporting Hendrickson Foundation.
Together, we’re showing that there is a place for everyone in hockey.
