As part of the United Chamber Advocacy Network, the Roseville Area Chamber of Commerce OPPOSES AB 2564 (Ward) because it will outlaw a vast range of existing, consumer-friendly discounts and conflicts with California’s existing law on data collection and usage, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as well as the CCPA’s implementing regulations. Moreover, AB 2564 uses undefined and ambiguous terms, meaning it will be difficult for employers to ascertain whether they are in compliance with its language without litigation. Because AB 2564 is enforced via legal action by private citizens or by state and local prosecutors, we expect these vagaries to add considerable litigation costs for businesses who are simply trying to offer long-standing discounts to consumer. As you near the end of your term as Mayor of City of Roseville, California Government, we are so grateful to have had the opportunity to recognize your incredible leadership and service to our community. Throughout your time in office, you have used your platform to empower and uplift individuals while strengthening and inspiring our community as a whole.

With State of the City being tomorrow, we would like to thank Mayor Krista Bernasconi for her years of service to Roseville and our community! Don’t miss the opportunity to come hear her final address and all that is happening in our community. If interested in attending the VIP Breakfast at 7AM, tickets can be purchased at the door. The Address is free to attend and will begin promptly at 9AM. We ask all attendees to arrive no later than 8:45AM to take their seats.
