Next week, first responders from across the country will head to San Diego to compete in the 2026 United States Police & Fire Championships, and we’re proud to have one of our own representing on the diamond.

Roseville Firefighter Kyle Benoit will be competing with Sac Fire Baseball, bringing years of experience as a middle infielder from his youth and high school playing days. Now, he’s ready to get back to work as competition begins Monday.

We know Kyle and the rest of the Sac Fire Baseball team will bring their competitive mindset to every inning, proudly representing both the fire service and the Sacramento region on the national stage.

Join us in wishing Kyle and the entire Sac Fire Baseball team the best of luck as they compete for a championship in San Diego!

Last week, assigned to the Rescue Task Force at Fire Station 8 conducted specialized training utilizing complex rope rescue systems to simulate a rescue from electrical transmission towers within the city.

While these incidents may appear routine, they can quickly become highly technical and challenging, particularly when victims are suffering from medical emergencies or traumatic injuries while stranded at significant heights.

Our members regularly train in these low-frequency, high-risk scenarios to maintain a high level of operational readiness, ensuring they are prepared to respond effectively should the need arise in our community or throughout the region.

We are proud to provide this specialized capability and remain committed to protecting our community through continuous training, professionalism, and preparedness.

As warmer temperatures settle across our region, we prepare for the hot, dry conditions that mark the beginning of fire season throughout California.

Over the past several weeks, have been training, acclimating, and preparing for the challenges of wildland fire operations—whether those incidents occur here in the valley or across the forested landscapes of Northern and Southern California. Our members remain ready to respond to all hazards, from small vegetation fires to large-scale incidents that threaten communities and natural resources.

Fire season brings unique challenges, not only for the firefighters on the front lines but also for the families who support them from home. We ask that you keep both our members and their loved ones in your thoughts as they continue to make sacrifices in service to others. The strength and support of our families play a vital role in our ability to answer the call, season after season.

We are honored to serve the Roseville community and proud to stand ready in protection of our region and state throughout the summer months.

PTSD Awareness Month is an important reminder that while first responders are trained to handle difficult situations, no one is immune to the lasting effects of trauma.

As firefighters, we take pride in serving our community during some of life’s toughest moments. Behind every emergency response are dedicated men and women who carry the weight of the calls and experiences they encounter throughout their careers.

We want our members, fellow first responders, and our community to know that seeking help is a sign of strength. Taking care of your mental health is just as important as taking care of your physical health.

If you or someone you know is struggling, reach out. Check in on a friend, coworker, family member, or fellow first responder. A simple conversation can make a meaningful difference.

As part of our commitment to providing the highest level of service to our community, continuously train both at the Fire Training Center and throughout our response districts.

Every year, each of our members dedicate hundreds of hours to training across all facets of the profession. Despite that commitment, the fire service is constantly evolving, and every emergency presents its own unique challenges, requiring ongoing education, skill development, and adaptability.

We are incredibly proud of the dedication and professionalism our members demonstrate each day as they work to maintain the exceptional level of service our community has come to expect. Their commitment to training and preparedness ensures they are ready to respond whenever and wherever we are needed.

This Memorial Day, pause to honor and remember the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Their courage, selflessness, and unwavering dedication will never be forgotten. Today, we reflect on the freedoms we are fortunate to enjoy because of those who gave everything in defense of our country.

Please join us in remembering our fallen heroes and keeping their families in our thoughts today and every day.

We are forever grateful. 🇺🇸

Over the weekend, conducted training in Colfax as members assigned to the Rescue Task Force participated in Swift Water Rescue Training. During the training, personnel refreshed their knowledge of river anatomy, rescue tactics, and operational strategies while applying those skills through realistic scenarios and hands-on evolutions to maintain a high level of proficiency in this specialized discipline.

As warmer weather approaches and more people head out to enjoy the water—whether at a lake, pond, river, or the ocean—we encourage everyone to do so responsibly. Always wear a life jacket, keep children within sight at all times, and remain aware of your surroundings.

We are proud to serve our community and the surrounding areas alike!
