Special Opportunities for Seniors 55+!

The purpose of AmeriCorps is to encourage and support volunteerism across our country. Locally AmeriCorps Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) partners with dozens of organizations improving lives including, IVC. If you’re 55 + and serving in Macomb or Oakland County you can join for free and receive extra benefits for the volunteering you’re already doing. Benefits can include mileage/bus reimbursement, event invitations, and supplemental insurance. Enrollment applications are available by contacting RSVP staff. We would like to give a big thank you to our Volunteer of the Month Steve Eckhout!

Steve has been volunteering with us for the past two years, he joined because IVC’s mission was exactly what he was looking for - “To Help Others”

He has been working on fixing our new building by repairing drywall, straightening cupboards, and any other odds and ends jobs throughout the restoration process.

In his free time Steve likes to stay active by swimming and working out. Since his retirement, he has also been able to spend more time with his grandkids. He says its a wonderful time for his family as he has two more on the way this year! Congratulations Steve!

We appreciate you and all the work you do to serve the community at Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers!

One month ago, Macomb County came together for something truly special 💙

More than 400 volunteers stepped up to serve 35 organizations during the very first Community Impact Day in Macomb County. What started as an afternoon of service became a powerful reminder of what can happen when businesses, nonprofits, and community members unite for a common purpose.

Thank you to every volunteer, host organization, sponsor, and partner who helped make this day possible. Your impact continues to be felt throughout our community.
