35 VOLUNTEERS. ONE AMAZING READING CARNIVAL.

Can we give a HUGE shoutout to the 35 incredible volunteers who helped make our first Spanger Reading Carnival happen?! 👏

From setting up early in the morning to running Plinko, ring toss, cup knockdown, temporary tattoos, lollipop pull, giant games, popcorn, cotton candy, popsicles and everything in between — you made the day possible.

And it went off without a hitch!

Hundreds of students came through the carnival, played games, spent their tickets, enjoyed treats, relaxed in our reading tents, and celebrated everything they accomplished during the Read-a-thon.

Most importantly: the kiddos had an absolute blast. ❤️

That doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because people show up, give their time, jump in wherever they’re needed, and care about creating special experiences for our students.

To all 35 of you: THANK YOU for your time, energy, patience, enthusiasm, and dedication to our Spartans. We truly could not have done it without you.

You helped turn a school field into a carnival — and gave our students a day they’ll remember.

READ-A-THON RECAP — WE DID IT, SPANGER!

What. A. Read-a-thon.

Our goal was $12,000… and our incredible Spanger community raised a total of: $14,230!

And our Spartans didn’t just fundraise — they READ! Together, our students logged an amazing 29,165 reading minutes during the Read-a-thon!

🏆 Top Fundraising Class:
Mrs. Lopes’ 2nd Grade — $2,605 raised!

📚 Top Reading Class:
Mrs. Baker’s 2nd Grade — 207 average reading minutes per student!

Both winning classes earned an Ice Cream or Pizza Party!

The funds raised will help the PTC continue bringing assemblies, hands-on learning experiences, special programs, and memorable events to our students throughout the year.

To every student who read a book, filled out a reading log, asked Grandma for a donation, shared their fundraising page, or convinced one more person to support Spanger — YOU helped make this happen.

And judging by all the smiles at our Reading Carnival… we’d say the celebration was pretty successful too.

Thank you, Spanger! We absolutely crushed it!

Only 3 days left to support the Spanger Read-a-thon!

Our fundraiser remains open through Sunday, September 27, and every donation helps bring meaningful programs, assemblies, hands-on learning experiences, and special events to Spanger students.

Students are reading, classes are working toward ice cream parties, raffle prizes are happening at lunch, and the Spanger Reading Carnival is happening today!

📚🎪 Tomorrow is our Spanger Reading Carnival! 🎪📚

We are so excited to celebrate our Read-a-thon with students during the school day on Friday, September 25!

Students will get to enjoy a fun carnival experience with games, treats, prizes, and activities, including:

🍧 Popsicles
🎯 Ring toss
🏀 Ball toss
🎟️ Plinko
🎨 Temporary tattoos
🥚 Egg relay
🎲 Board game area

Every student will participate with their class during their scheduled time.

We still have a few volunteer spots left for morning setup, and we would love a few extra helping hands to get everything ready before the students arrive.
