Meet Riego Creek Elementary School’s STEAM students! Fourth grade teacher Tiffany Bautista used her PIE Grant funds to get her students Ozobots, which are tiny smart robots that teach hand-on coding and computer science without the need of a screen.

Riego’s STEAM students used their Ozobots for social studies, math and science projects, including the design of Ozobot covered wagons coded to take on the Oregon Trail and a demonstration of how electrons flow through closed circuits.

The RCSD Foundation’s 2026-27 Partners in Education (PIE) Grants are now OPEN! Have a STEAM project idea your students would love? We want to fund it.

What’s on the table:
⭐Up to $750 for an individual teacher or staff member
⭐Up to $2,000 for a grade-level or department team

Last year’s grants hatched chicks in Fiddyment Farm classrooms, built a Bug & Bloom Lab at Crestmont, brought Supermarket Science to Riego Creek and put a telephoto lens in the hands of Cooley’s yearbook crew. Your idea could be next!

Deadline: 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23.

Thank you to everyone who came out for "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader" Trivia Night! Together, you raised $1,400 for Roseville City School District students.

That money goes straight to work. It supports music education for RCSD students, and it funds PIE Grants that help our teachers and staff bring hands-on STEAM learning into their classrooms.

Congratulations to our first, second and third place teams. You clearly did your homework! And a special shoutout to our Best Team Name winner, "Trivia? In This Economy?" 🤣

We had a blast, and our students win big because of you. Start brushing up on your state capitals and we'll see you next year!

Thank you to the nearly 70 grown-ups and 25 kids for joining the RCSDF "Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader" Trivia Night fundraiser!

Not only did y'all bring electricity to the room, but now we can say you've passed the fifth grade. Stay tuned for more details on funds raised and how you can participate with the Foundation this year.
